Not for people with heart problems.

User Rating: 9 | Penumbra: Overture PC
I tried Penumbra a couple years back expecting something boring or poorly done. I couldn't have been more wrong, I even played through all the subsequent episodes, eventhough they weren't as good as this one.

Good:
-If you play this in the dark then I guarantee your heart will be pounding for a good portion of the game. I can't recommend it more to those who love a good scare.
-Realistic physics that are similar to Valve's Half-Life 2, they really add to the immersion and suspense of the game.
-The combat does feel frantic and is extremely challenging, which heightens the suspense.
-The use of lighting is unbelievably amazing.
-Subtle and creepy music; creepy voice acting.
-The very last part of this episode is one of the scariest things I've ever seen.

Bad:
-The story is nonexistent in some places and just weird in others.
-The combat is a bit clunky and there are some movement related issues.
-It's a pretty short game and may leave you dissatisfied with where it ends.
-Players that constantly need to be smashing things and aren't patient enough to put up with a lot of puzzles may not find what they're looking for, this game works on a much more psychological level.
