Not as exciting as I thought it would be

I thought that this classic PS1 game would be right up my alley. I am an older gamer...most likely older than most. I have been around and have seen many PS1 games and remakes. I really liked the Star Ocean remakes for the PSP so I thought that I would love Persona. So far, I was wrong. It is...well, Boring.
I go through maze like buildings and fight every few steps either using Guns or Persona Skills. But I do not see anything that knocks my socks off. I am at level 15 right now, so I am most likely still in the beginning of the game, but I have played enough to know that it is just a run of the mill game so far. The story is just about High school kids who by some miracle have these Persona characters. So far, I think the story could have been written by a high school student. Maybe it will get better later in the story, I don't hold high hopes however.
The graphics are old world, but not bad..it still works. The music is fine.
