Surprising good for a game based on a movie
Most of the missions are with Jack on foot which is where I think the game shinned. The games missions up until getting to Kong's cave were really well done and thought out but took a nose dive after Kong's cave. The mission with the marching Brontosauruses was one of the best along with the one with a T-Rex that chases the girl and requires you to distract him. Missions like that had my heart racing as I'm throwing spears and running for my life. The dinosaurs were so well done, thats where the game shinned. The Gamespot review talks so much about how awesome playing with Kong was but I disagree. Most of those missions had faulty camera work and poor controls and for the most part you just mash button A for punch the whole time to finish off bad creatures. Picking up and letting go of the girl was cool.
The game really took a dive though from Kong's Cave until the end. Most of those missions seemed tacked on and you did very little to have to beat them or just mash button with Kong. Seems like development team ran out of time and just pieced together the last 6 or so missions. The final mission with Kong in the City was awful with terrible camera and shady controlling.
Pros: Great missions until Kongs Cave that made your heart pound with anxiety. Game flows as well as movie did. Interactions with crew were well done. Dinosaur missions were excellent
Cons: The last 6 missions or so were too easy with little to do. The one city mission was dreadfully bad.
Achievement Difficulty: 3/10. Just beat the game once and you get all 1000 points. I'll admit, I played this game thinking easy points but some missions were challenging and the game overall was worth playing. The final 400pts came in with ease. Most people say 8hrs or less, since I'm not a hardcore gamer it probably took me a more like 10-15hrs.
