This game is absolutely incredible! For $20 you cannot possibly go wrong.

User Rating: 10 | Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie XBOX
Peter Jackson’s King Kong is quite possibly the greatest game I have ever played. This declaration is from someone who has not seen nor had any interest in seeing the movie, although I may have to now. The backgrounds and creatures themselves are as intense as I have ever seen on an Xbox game. I still cannot believe that they are selling this game for $20. Some have claimed it to be short, but even so, there is plenty of reason to replay the game including earning points the second time around, unlocking extras, and playing through an alternate ending.

After your ship crashes into the shore, you are off on an excursion to find the legendary King Kong. This search brings you throughout a jungle-filled remote island where you have to battle prehistoric beasts all along the way. There are even some angry primitives that will hassle you from time to time but they are not all that difficult to avoid and/or destroy. It may be a bit tough at first, but once you get used to the controls, it is an action-packed ride easily worth more than the price of admission.

Once I figured out that you are much better off shooting at the gigantic bats from a distance with the sniper rifle as they hang by their feet, it made my life a whole hell of a lot easier. If you do not do this you will learn the hard way as you try to cross one of the rickety bridges. Shooting them down will also attract other creatures to them which will allow you to shoot at them as they tear away at the carcass.

Luckily, the rescue plane that is looking for you has dropped off some guns in crates along with ammunition at different points throughout the jungle. You will need to be as conservative with the bullets as possible but should have no problem getting by with what is there for you along with the spears you find. Use the spears and some good aim whenever possible. If worse comes to worse, I believe there are cheat codes that will allow you to stock up on ammo or even change your weapon. Most likely you will not need them though.

The few levels where you get to be Kong could be worth the price of the game alone and that is only a small part of the overall experience. I cannot think of a rating other than 10 out of 10 for this game. The action, the graphics, and the price are second to none on Xbox as far as I am concerned. You could probably rent it and have it done in a couple of days if you stick with it, but I would suggest just buying it for $20 as you can definitely play it again. I do not want to give away too many details so I will stop it at that. ENJOY!
