When looking at the previews for this game awile back, I wasn't that hyped for it. Not as much as the magazines were. Then when I went to EB Games awile back and saw the game released, I asked how much it was. They told me $20. A brand new, just released game for $20. So I took it home and played it and was blown away. Phantom Dust is something I would pay a full $50 on and not be dissapointed. It supports great graphics, and the game mechanics are far different than any other game. When I say this, I'm referring mainly to the battles. Its kinda like a card game, but ALOT better. The way you fight and use these different abilities as they spawn is very unique and innovative. During the battles you always have one teammate with you that will help you fight at all times. And the boss battles are very interesting and require you to make good choices on what abilites you want to have in your arsenal. But what bugs me is that you only fight in like 6 different areas and your abilites always respawn in the same area which kinda makes you want to set up fort around them. Plus, the enemy A.I. could be cheap at times. But those, and the fact that the characters look like they just came outta a crackedhead's dreams is my only real flaw with the game. All in all, this game definately warrants a purchase, even if it was $50. But since its only $20, there should be no reason to not pick this one up.
