I grew up with this game. I was always into Ancient Egypt, so when I saw this at Best Buy, I bought it without ever knowing of the City Building Series or ever played another game besides "Frogger 2" for that matter (I was only about 6 or 7 years old). But this game had those qualities lacking in many city-building games. The graphics are good, but of course not as detailed as today, but you have to forgive them for that because it was made in '99. The subject was fascinating, and the way you had to build and manage the city, and how you had to build monuments in the fashion of the ones built three thousand years ago. Another feature I liked (though it could be vexing at times) was how everything is connected. For example, if the plague strikes, then your work structure crumbles (because everyone is dead), and you have severe employment problems for a long time until the city is repopulated. This game was absolutely great, and I am sad Sierra went bankrupt and was not able to make more in the City Building Series. But, I have to thank them for releasing this one while they were still alive. It sparked my love for games.
