The sequel to lone GC RTS. Makes the series better in every way possible and even throws in some multiplayer.

User Rating: 9.1 | Pikmin 2 GC
Pikmin 2 comes close to being one of my favorite games of all time.
If you've played the other one, you know that they have a weird display of RTS but still manage to let the player control and in some ways...build and army. Then set off and exterminate any other wildlife, including non-hostiles.

Many of the old creatures make a return here...as a matter of fact, they all do. And many new creatures have been added, making Pikmin 2 a wild safari...where you kill all the creatures.

The graphics are cool and still fresh with great animations and even better looking water and creatures. The frame rate flys even at boss battles, which is unusual for a GC game. The sounds are also well done. Each creature has a distince sound and even walking noise that lets the player know what is ahead. The sound of your many Pikmin drowing still makes me cringe, as the player seems to get attached to the little things.

All to get "Treasure" The story here is that after Olimar got back from his last visit with the Pikmin, his company ran into finatial trouble. So guess what? Your going back to the stinkin planet to fine random earth trinkets ( Bottle caps, Toothpaste, ect. ) and luging them to your ship to save your boss' butt.

Along the way another character will make his way onto your ship, Ollie. He's the retarted cousin of Olimar ( or so it seems ) and he is the long being making co-op possible. But only after beating the game.

During the game, you can switch back and forth between the characters that could be at opposite sides of the world and manage their Pikmin and set diffirent tasks about them.

Although the ammount of items you must recover in order to get your boss out of debt is somewhat steep, It gets very realistic about only a third way through the game, as you start to see more dungeons and high prices boss treasures. What I'm saying is that it seems way to easy and fast to pay off all of the debt, and if players know what their doing the whole time, they can easily complete the taks before even reaching the last level.

I did, and when you beat the debt, you unlock the boss for use during the main game. He does the same thing, but it's just the novelty value people.

Also included to help the player keep track of his/her strategys is a "Creature Book" where you can go to on the main menu and find new ways to deal with though foes and past bosses. ( hint: most of the bosses from the old game are now just big enemies that are almost common in this game )

Anyway, leaving you with the task of getting EVERYTHING left in the game makes the player feel confident at first, then realize that he/she needs a Pikmin Guide book. Theres just simply too much to get. Thus the player gives up one day and decides to return back to their life.

Multiplayer is unlocked, and is fun for a few hours if your playing with someone that has the slightest clue what their doing. But as most games do, it tends to appeal as rather repetive, and one of the players will most likely get bored.

After all, this sequel isn't a classic like its predessor because it's just simply too easy. The player will feel slightly rewarded after completing the major part of the story, but it's not enough to keep going.
