This game is pure gold, if your just browsing the reviews in search of an awsome game regardless of platform or genre, your search ends here. This game is a diamond in the rough surrounded by crappy games like world of warcraft where you have to pay a rediculous monthly bill to play. To play a video game? So what does the disney do? They invest $100 million into a revolutionary mmo, unlike any other. This is Pirates Online or more formally known as Pirates of the Carribean Online. This game was made to recreate a broken genre of crappy, bill based mmo's without destroying it for those who loved it. Let me explain. You can choose to play for free with a basic access account that constantly is updated with patches and top dollar customer service at no charge. This isnt your typical "to good to be true" affair. It is top quality customer service and gameplay all for free instantly. If your a avid WoW player or enjoy paying monthly fees to get enough content to waste a life in, pirates allows you to do this for only a $80 a year subscription. An example is you can play poker with the paid subscription but you must settle for blackjack with the free fee. I think anyone could live with that. The basic account does not limit you in any way from completing the game or being successful in the game. I am a basic player and feel stripped in no way at all, dont let the physcology of others fool you into buying objects ina video game with real money, thats just foolish think about what your purchasing? what would your classmates or parents think if you spent money on a "virtual ship" or a virtual "skill" lol seriously, but if you some how find logic behind this go right ahead its there.

Even if no one paid advertisements in the game "which i never see" provide enoguh money if you were wondering how a profit is made.

This game already has tv spots, newspaper articles and commercials, how long did that take for WoW?

This game features a vast world, a fully rendered fictional carribean from the pirates universe which we are all familar with, so we can jump in right away. This game features far greater depth than any previous mmo by allowing you to explore the carribean without spending money and time to learn you how to accomplish basic tasks such as aquire a ship. The features everything any previous mmo featured including PvP which finally has meaning Pirate vs Pirate. New customization shops will go live shortly and further increase the depth of the game. There simply is no end to this game and the beauty is, it serves as a casual mmo and a hardcore mmo whith out the complicated stuff. This game is a dream come true.

If your like me and think it is rediculous to pay for a video game on a monthly rate, like cable, internet, phone etc. then you'll love this game.

If this is your first mmo it will be your last as there is no need to look into any others unless disney launches a new mmo 5-10 years into the future.

This game is revolutionary and brings casual gameing to mmo's which combine to make the perfect computer game. All you need is a computer and the internet and your set. Save the retail games for console. I threw oblivion away for this after playing for 5 mins, something i never thought possible as i usually make fun of these games.
