So bad, you will want to burn the cartridge

When you play a game like PotC for the GBA, you find yourself asking questions like: 1. Did the programmers take drugs? That would explain how they ever thought this game was interesting. 2. Did anyone who likes games play test this? If so, did they drink in order to make this game interesting? This game is just silly...A little button mashing combat that is cake-simple. An all-but-uncontrollable sea battle system. You go to a town and kill British guards. No one seems to notice your mass slaughter of the guards...and you cannot kill anyone else. Then you go to sea and try to sink some ships...which is nearly impossible with the control scheme...then back to land to fight some skeletons. None of the ground battles are difficult enough to warrant even paying attention. The sea battles are annoying. Graphics and sound are only passably adequate. I am being generous. And the save system is based on codes you have to write down. Excuse me, but this is 2004. On-cartridge saves are the norm. When was the game designed? Also. the game has nothing to do with the ride or the movie in any meaningful way to fans of either. Skip this game. Even if someone gives it to you for free...give it back...or run it over with you car...or burn it.
