After hearing the hype about Plants Vs. Zombies, I decided to get the CD version on the 360. It came at $20 dollars at Gamestop, which was quite a deal for such a great game. This 360 version of Plants Vs. Zombies is the ultimate old school style package the awesome white console has to offer.

Features

.Tons of levels of zombie killing action,

.Tons of different plants to use for many possible strategies

.Co-op, Survival, and more modes and mini-games

.Some of the fastest 360 Gameplay ever

.Two more games: Peggle and Zuma

When I first played Plants Vs. Zombies, I didn't see what was the big deal. As I completed more levels, though, I was hooked. I'm not a big strategy fan, but Plants Vs. Zombies sucked me into its world. Basically, zombies are coming to invade your house (and eat your brains) and you need the help of your plants to save you. While you get some pea-shooters at first, you then can get potato shields, double pea shooters, mushrooms, squashes, grave eaters, sunflowers, and even cherry bombs.

You need to plant sunflowers on the far left side of your yard, and you need to plant at least one on each of the six planes. The flowers will then produce sunlight, which is currency for planting any kind of plant you can afford. For example, if you plant a peashooter, it will slowly take out a zombie on the same plane is it. Once you kill all the zombies, a final wave will come, though it's not as bad as it sounds, since you'll probably plant a bunch of plants to stop the zombies.

Speaking of zombies, there's a bunch of different types. You get the standard zombies, pole vaulters, football runningbacks, Disco dancers, the hilarious newspaper zombie, and even scubba diving zombies! You'll need to figure out which plants to use on them and when. Don't worry if your plants eaten, because if the zombie touches one of the six lawnmowers, he's toast. Don't let him cross after that, because if he does, he can enter your house and you'll lose the game. You can only choose six, but you can buy spots that let you hold seven, then eight, etc. I love how the game gives each plant and zombie detailed information, basically their backstory. They're hilarious and I suggest reading them!

Since there's a lot of levels, you'd expect Plants Vs. Zombies to get boring after the third level. WRONG! Because there's new plants and zombies in each level, the surprises increase and the strategies get different. It's satisfying and fun to see your minions take the head off of a zombie (this is E-10 rated, so there's no blood or real violence, so it's pretty lighthearted). I absolutely love when the newspaper from the newspaper zombie gets destroyed, because he gets angry as hell and walks faster! The stages are pretty short, and the boss fights and mini games like bowling are extremely addicting and fun. Yes, BOWLING!!!

You also get a bunch of other modes like survival, co-op, and even one where you get to be the zombies, which is sweet! Two games are included, Peggle, which has you destroying red pegs by shooting balls at them, and Zuma, a puzzle style game. Both are fun and strike an old school charm.

The graphics are great, but you probably won't notice them because you're having too much fun playing this. The music reminds me of Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, which is definitely a great thing. The audio is also superb.

Plants Vs. Zombies is the ultimate strategy game on any system, and this 360 version is probably the best. The CD version is the ultimate package for a strategy fan, and it provides unlimited replay value. The more I played Plants Vs. Zombies, the more I didn't want to stop. I suggest you run out and buy the CD version on the 360 so you can see why.
