"Platoon" is a very good action game in general. Still, it's very frustrating, hard, and tendious.

"Platoon" is almost everything a gamer could expect from an old-school action game. Still, it is way too hard, and it tends to get really frustrating and tendious.

"Platoon" actually does pretty well on the game play part. It's only game mode, the campain, is pretty fun, and well taught. While playing, some objectives will be assigned to the player, and the mission will never end until thoses objectives are complete. The game features ingenious level design, wich sometimes ends up beiing a real maze. Unfortunatly, it is really easy to get lost.
What makes the game really frustrating is it's weird ennemy respawn system. Ennemies will sometimes walk to you, fall on you, or even get out of a hole, dug into the ground. Sometimes, an ennemy will fall on you four times in a row, letting you no issue but failure.
Fortunatly, "Platoon" can be played over and over again without getting boring.

The game does very well on the graphic part. "Platoon" features awsome 2D graphics and a very nice color palette. The game also features some very good character animations. Still, some layer glitches occur from time to times.

"Platoon" also features very good sound effects and a pretty good soundtrack wich, unfortunatly, gets really anoying when you play for more than an hour.

Conclusion:

I suggest that any old-school gamer owns "Platoon" for it's great replay value and good gameplay.
