PlayStations have always been successful, ever since the release of the original PlayStation (PS1) in 1995. Then, later on, the PlayStation 2 (PS2) was released with even more entertainment options. Then a PlayStation Portable (PSP) was released, which packed even more entertainment than the PS2 into a small, compact device. Now there is the PlayStation 3 (PS3), which packs so much offline and on entertainment options that it feels almost overwhelming, but manages to place it all into a single, sleek menu. It is truly one of the greatest consoles on the market.

Pros: PlayStation Network, PS3's online community, is perfectly free. Tons of entertainment including movies, music, games, and much, much more are all packed into the console, and are easily accessible though a sleek and simple main menu. Also, graphics in videogames are high quality, and everything is in perfect HD.

Cons: The actual console is kind of pricey (can go up to $600), which may draw away some people.

So, in a console, you want all many features and entertainment options, which the PS3 has. There's music, videogames, movies, free online, and Netflix, and much more. The amount of stuff the PS3 has is almost unbelievable, which is always good to have in a massive console such as this. Now, the next step is to make all these options accessible and easy to use, which the PS3, also, excels at. The main menu of the PS3 is basically channels that go up and down, vertically. There are _ channels: profiles, system settings, music, video, games, network, and friends. These sections make going and doing what you want to do simple and easy.

For people that like to play online, meet up with friends, play online multiplayer, and more online feature, will be pleased with the PS3's online features. It's called PlayStation Network (PSN). Through PSN you get the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, friends, and more. The greatest thing about PSN is the fact that being able to gain all these things is perfectly free. There's no kind of subscription fee you have to pay in order to play with friends, buy things through the store, or play on Home, which is basically Second Life on the PS3. Also, playing online multiplayer in games like Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, Little Big Planet, and more, is, also, perfectly free. The little amount you have to pay in order to play online is awesome. However, the main console is rather pricey, and can go up to $600, but once you buy the console, there's pretty much nothing else to pay for.

There's a good amount of videogames to choose from on the PS3, so don't think like you won't have anything to play. And that's the beauty of the PS3. You will always have things to do, from playing games with friends to watching movies in perfect, prime HD. The PS3 is a rather pricey piece of technology, but once you get your hands on it, you will never want to get them off.
