I remember when I was ten years old, the newest thing came out that hit the world by storm, virtual pets. Now to a ten year old, this seemed really cool. Then they came out with something new, a game for the Game Boy that not only inspired the taking care of a pet side of most people, but a more then entertaining RPG feel. Years went on, and more and more of these Virtual pet style devices, console games and hand held games were created. Now after almost ten years of this, all I can say is enough already!
I heard people talk and say that this game would be a less advance, but a very interesting game with the virtual pet aspect. I also heard this would be a lot like the popular NINTENDOGS game for the Nintendo DS system. All I have to say is they were so wrong. This game not only seems too linear for me, but it completely lacks substance, originality, and that addictive aspect that most gamers look for especially in a hand held game. Game play was not only too linear, but lacked real class and style that the GBA as been able to show off in most of it's games. The only thing I thought was barely acceptable was the sound and the graphics. It had a little 3D class, which made the whole experience somewhat bearable. The sound was mediocre, with its interesting sound effects and catchy background music. However that is all this game offers. Those two attributes are in no way worth the pain and anguish I experienced and it is heading to my local video game store to trade in as we speak.
Bottom line, do not get this game unless you like less then standard game play, poor style, class and everything in between that Nintendo had worked so hard to build. I just have one final thing to say, what was Nintendo honestly thinking?!
