User Rating: 8.4 | Point Blank PS
When I first saw Point Blank in the arcades, I was hooked. When I saw it was available for home consoles, I was ecstatic. Even though light guns never get the support they should, I was willing to spend the extra money to get this game, that comes packed with a light gun. Point Blank revolves around completing 4 stages of 4 challenges each. There are over 60 different challenges, and each rotates at random, so the game never plays the same twice. The game is just as fun playing by yourself or with others. Playing with another person can be cooperative or competitive play. Levels may be as clear cut as shooting a series of traditional bullseye targets or hitting cut-outs of criminals while avoiding civilian casualties, or may be more complex, requiring you to shoot a small moving target with but a single bullet or being given an exemplar and then having to shoot the matching target in an array of similar targets. In addition to the traditional arcade mode, there is a story-mode with an RPG-like feel. The extras don't add much, but he main game is so fun you may never even try them anyway. Graphically the game matches the arcade, but they're nothing spectacular. Sound is also only so-so, but you'll never notice. The replay is so high for this game given its addictive nature, "never-the-same-game-twice" style of play, and constant high level of fun that this is a recommended purchase.
