This game is basically Hey, You! Pikachu! with the most annoying feature (the microphone) removed, being replaced by a less interactive system. The game focuses a bit heavily on the TV, which actually helps mask the fact that there really isn't much variety in what you have to do. What keeps you coming back is the interaction with other Pokemon, the collection of various items and stuff, the nifty painting feature, and most of all the undeniable cuteness of Pikachu. Pikachu was a complete idiot in HY!P!, and he still is in this game. It's fun to watch the stupid things he'll do, such as jump into your face for no reason. The time-based aspects aren't nearly as full-blown as, say, Animal Crossing's, but they keep you coming back. They also make it rather boring at times, as if you've done a lot and are waiting for time to go by, there's really nothing much to do. The one thing I have a problem with is that a lot of the "content" is basically an episode of Pichu Bros. divided into segments. This seems to be adverti****t for the upcoming Pichu Bros. Party Panic. While I'm looking forward to the game, I don't want to play one game to see adverti****ts for another. Overall, the game is intriguing, and a bit more interesting than it's predecessor... however, it's not too entertaining for people who are not either little kids or REALLY into Pokemon.
