This game is not terrible, but it isn't very good ether.
This game is OK, but it certainly is not terrible.
If you are playing this game, you should have heard of Pokemon before. Pokemon Channel remixes Pokemon and Nintendogs together, and now you've got yourself taking care of a Pikachu. Also, to add into the mix, you're watching TV. What's so good and bad about this game? Then, here are my rankings:
Story: I really don't care/10
You saw it. I really don't care about certain types of games with stories in them because they really don't matter, or it doesn't have one. The story here is that Professor Oak has assigned YOU to watch a special channel named "Pokemon Channel" and make it the most popular channel on TV. Then… *Drum roll*… A wild Pikachu walks into your house. Eh, what? Well, this is the Pikachu I was talking about in the beginning.
Sounds: 7/10
The music here is NOT from any Pokemon game AT ALL, and they just seem too generic. The sounds are from Pokemon (Well DOH), but just expect constant "Pika-pi" noises.
Graphics: 7/10
I really don't know how to explain it, except it DOES look kind of like "Hey You Pikachu" with only a couple of improved things. There COULD'VE been some changes in some spots though where something is oddly made, like some leaf I saw in a forest looked like some bug to me.
Gameplay: 6.9/10
The gameplay is the same thing over and over again: You watch TV and "take care" of your Pikachu. It DOES sound pretty stupid, and yes, it is kind of, but there are some treats here. At first, you are testing out a couple channels on the thing, which is mainly Pichu Bros.'s special episode that can only be found on here (Youtube is your friend!), but the thing is that if you watch a channel too much, Pikachu gets addicted to it and will constantly change the channels you want to watch BACK to it. But TV isn't the only thing here (Otherwise I would've gave this a lower point), you get to go to places that are SOMEHOW in the Pokemon world. The thing is that, going to places are really half-finished. Such as the beach spot, you ONLY go fishing and you watch your pet fall over a bunch of times. Yeah, it's really that boring. Some of the channels are pretty fun though.
Final Appeal: 7.0/10
This game certainly is not terrible, but it isn't the best thing you've seen ether. If you are able to, rent it first BEFORE buying it.
