Just like any series one game is overated, poor and no one accepts it!
The single player is horrid, suprisingly good graphics and decent music but the poor double battle system and very lengthy battles make for a tedious push to attempt to complete the game. The multiplayer linking up with friends Gameboys is quite good however, although Stadium did it far better. Theres nothing like seeing you're favourite pokemon in 3D!
The plot is quite good yet rushed and poorly executed... and not forgeting the hideous visuals of humans, and the fact you're character should be dead seeing how underweight he is! Also you have this irritating girl who follows you everywhere and complains when you forget to catch a shadow pokemon... that anoys me as you have to start from you're last save point just to get Ho - oh as you nedd all shadow pokemon. It's made worse by this irritating girl frolicing around.
Through the story just like Gale of Darkness where a good charater throughout the game turns evil the story is fairly unique and inovative. Although battling is boring if you have a few friends with a Gameboy each you can have fun. The 100 battle level 100 place... what ever its called really anoys me as its too easy and the reward points are poor. So you waste 30 hours of you're life for wait for it... come on guess... half a berry... that does next to nothing... just slightly raises a stat when you're health is low. You can also blow you're points on a TM... which you can buy in almost all Gameboy pokemon games for 500yen... thats $5! Takes 2 minutes to get, not thirty hours.
With all that said the generall impression of the game is acceptable and it may be worth £6, if you're already into pokemon or just want 3D action!
