Pokemon Colosseum is another entry in the pokemon series, which is close to being 10 years old. Pokemon Colosseum really isn't much different from its predecesors, but the game's most drastic change is the shadow pokemon system. Pokemon Colloseum consists of two major modes: first you have the story mode. The story mode is about a young teenager who was part of team snagem, but was tired of their criminal activities, so he decided to run away with the snag machine and blow up the base. You'll soon realize that your goal is to snag al shadow Pokemon, which are Pokemon that can't access their heart, or simply said: they're evil :). Shadow Pokemon can be caught using the afformentioned Snag machine. The Snag machine will charge Pokeball and then you throw it. The downside of all this is that shadow pokemon are your only source for new pokemon. THat's right: there are NO wild pokemon whatsoever. Then you'll have to make the shadow pokemon pure. You can do this by battling, massaging your pokemon with a scent, wandering around with him in your party and so forth.. It takes long but after a while the shadow meter will be empty and with th help of an ancient stone you can finally purify them. Using either your Pokemon from Colosseum or a GBA pokemon game, you can access the Battle mode, where you can fight against a friend, or compete in a 100 battle challenge or compete in a cup of choice. The graphics in Pokemon Colosseum are dissapointing. All the Pokemon's movements and behaviour are straight from the stadium games (except the new pokemon). The enviroments are also quit nice, but the polygon count's too low. The sound is VERY repetitive, and the pokemon make no noices whatsoever (excpet when they appear from their pokeball or die). Finally, you should play Pokemon Colosseum if you're a fan of pokemon, a fan from RPG's in general, but if you're new to the series, consider renting it.
