Awesome, but a tad on the short side.

Pokemon Colosseum's story mode was fun. It wasn't like most of the other games, where you move into some country town, save a professor and get one of his pokemon, then go on a journey to find eight badges and beat the Elite Four. (I like those games, don't get me wrong) No, this game starts out at a rest stop in the desert. And you start out with an Espeon and an Umbreon. Just by playing for five minutes, you know this isn't your average Pokemon game. The story also is more intresting, as you play a criminal-gone-good that saves Shadow (evil) pokemon from evil trainers (some his formal team members) by Snagging (stealing) them with his Snag Machine. They start out with only one attack that gives recoil, and you have to open their hearts by training hard with them and by keeping them from going into evil rages. The story mode is fun, but tragically short and only lets you catch 40-some Pokemon. The graphics, while not the best on the Gamecube, are much improved from Stadium 2. The ability to trade the Pokemon (most of which are Johto pokemon) to your Game Boy games is also a nice touch. The sound plays some nostalgic Pokemon tunes, along with many new tracks that fit the game's mood well. The game may not be in the bargain bin, but it's worth your money if you're a Pokemon (or RPG) fan.
