The first worthwhile pokemon console battler also comes with an enjoyable story mode.
Gameplay: As for control, the game was nothing special, but the new collection and training system coupled with tons of battles and Pokemon Stadium-esque elements thrown in, the gameplay had nothing to be desired. (And I bothered to beat all 100 trainers in that tower place, the sastisfaction was immense.)
Graphics: Showing a crisp upgrade to GCN and good battle engines, the graphics weren't outstanding but solid nonetheless.
Sound: A pokemon game has to have some good tunes. And This game has just that. From Epic rock background soloing and technical goodness, the sound sounds like something out of a good dream theater album. Really cool and brightens the mood to make the game atmospherically terrific.
Value: As I stated before, the story mode with the addition of battle mode brings together the handheld and previous console game into one lengthy package. A very good game.
Tilt: Being a confessed pokemon fan still, you have to love the collectors spirit of this game, and with a good game that gives you plenty to work through, I can't give this one less than a solid 8.8.
