A great game for Pokemon fans. Based more on adventure and story rather than gotta catch them all. A soild game.

I was expecting Pokemon Colosseum to be an updated version of Pokemon Stadium from the Nintendo 64. To my suprise it actually turned out to be an adventure game instead, with Pokemon Stadium elements accessible in the game.

First note, that in Pokemon Colosseum you cannot catch Pokemon as such like in the main games. Instead, there are Pokemon that have turned evil, known as Shadow Pokemon. They are being raised by your opponents in the game. It's your job to take them from your opponents and heal the Shadow Pokemon back to health. This part i didn't like so much because it vastly decreased the variety of Pokemon you could catch. You'll be depending on your main Pokemon most of the time which luckily was the awesome Umbreon or Espeon. This may be a flaw but every other aspect of the game was very good and very enjoyable. If you were always hoping for a bit more story and character depth in the main games this may be what you're looking for. Plus with the graphics you get to see your Pokemon really come to life.

Ok so it's a bit different, even with an almost dark theme to it. But that's not a bad thing. This game is not focused on raising your favourite team but is dependant on the adventure and story aspects. Luckily it has a strong (and long) story, strong characters, a vast world to explore, nice graphics for it's age and overall is a very solid and addictive adventure game.

It is hard to describe because it is hard to compare to the main Pokemon games. It really stands on its own and is one of the best Pokemon spin-offs to date. If your a Pokemon fan this is one you must try, i don't think you'll be disapointed. I consider it to be part of the Pokemon legacy.
