A healthy blend of new and old add together to make the most impressive nintendo experience in a long time.
This game also improves greatly on the game play. The use of the touch screen in battles may take some getting used to, but in the end make things much more smoother, faster, and just overall more exciting than they ever were.
In Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, the overhead view of the world is replaced with a great 3D view. Everything seems to stick out, and the colors and details all add together to create an amazing environment.
The only negatives to say about this game would be the flaws in the sound. As was said in the gamespot review, most of the sounds from the older pokemon are exactly the same as they were in the generation that they were released, and sound just as staticy as they would on a game boy color. However, the rest of the soundtrack to this game is excellent, and the little tunes you listen to during the various types and difficulties of the battles never get repetitive or annoying.
Overall, this game is the best of any of the four generations of pokemon, and if they keep it up, the series will always live in the hall of fame of RPGs.
