Welcome back to Kanto, where more adventure awaits you at the original region!

User Rating: 9.8 | Pokemon FireRed Version GBA
Welcome back to the land where Pokemon started, the beautiful region of Kanto, except now there's more stuff, and that adds to the excitement. Some new features are here at Kanto that weren't here for Red and Blue, like the Sevii Islands. You start out where Professor Oak asks you some questions that don't really matter, but just are important for you in the game. Like if you're a boy or girl and what your name is. After that, you go out, and Professor Oak stops you from going in the tall grass blah blah blah... So, you get a Pokemon, and set out on your Pokemon journey like any other Pokemon game. Collecting badges, beating the Pokemon league, you get it. As I got Emerald first, I didn't like the graphics, as I think the Hoenn region is more interesting. Also, I really liked the sprite movement in Emerald, and I would've liked it in this game too. The sound is good, and the compositions are great. The only reason that this gets a 9 in sound is that some of the cries are annoying. I mean, can't they just stick to what they do in the anime, and have the cry be them saying their name? The game is well worth it, and packs hours of fun. It is very expensive for a video game, but is well worth it and deserves a place in every major video game fan's collection, if it's not one of the favorites in their collection. Overall, I give it a 10, because even though it doesn't have such a great storyline, it's really addicting, and this is a great Pokemon game to be your first. If you ask me, this game is well worth it, and if you're considering getting this game, you shouldn't hesitate, you should just rush to the store! Trust me, this game is addicting, from the very first second to where you triumph over the Pokemon league, and even then, there's still so much more! If you have anger management problems, this isn't the game for you. Like all Pokemon games, there's lots of screw-ups that you can make and you just shout at yourself for. Like killing legendaries, using your Master Ball on something extremely weak, and losing an important battle. But this is the perfect game for you if you're up for it, great for anybody, and I highly advise you to play it.
