A much better update to the first pokemon games that been around.

This game I like better then the original Pokemon games. This game is actually a little easier then the orginal with some of the new items you get in the game. My favorite is the Lucky egg, which you get if you catch a Chansey with one. This item is really good: This item when held by a pokemon gets I think 2x the experience points when he or she defeats an enemy pokemon, this is even more useful for trainer's pokemon.

The gameplay is better then the original. The difficultly is lowered a little with some new items like the Lucky egg, Amulet coin and the VS seeker. It is sweet once you beat the Elite 4 you can catch Gold and Silver version pokemon and then trade Ruby and Sapphire Pokemon after a quest.

The graphics are of course better then the original and even a little less pixelated then Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald versions of pokemon. still though the Emerald version has a nice tough with pokemon animations.

the sound is improved from the original versions, not groundbreaking, but still good.

The value. Right now I got this game so I can collect pokemon to prepare for the Diamond and Pearl versions of pokemon on the DS. There is one beef I did not mention yet. The problem to feeling up the PokeDex is that certain pokemon it can only be caught in special events and I think the no longer really exist that much. I hope that there will be a pernemet way to get those pokemon without a GameShark.
