Obviosly as good as Leaf Green, almost!

This is the best Game I have ever played by far, but I do realise half of this is down to personal taste. It takes aspects from the original Red and Blue, Gold and Silver, Ruby and Saphire, Zelda games... yes Zelda Games and then it fuses them together to make the perfect game with no real defect. The graphics are clean and simple, not too good in any way but unlike most gameboy games you know what everything is. The music is legendary especially when you walk into the league, hear the classic Gym song then the League battle tune, my favourite gaming tune along with F-Zero GX's original Big Blue theme.

The main thing which astounds me about this game, as a pokemon fan, is how the league has strong rivals. For example Red and Blue had levels around 55 to 63, Ruby and Saphire had 46 to 58 and worst of all Gold and Silver had 42 to 50... lame! However in Fire Red you get much tougher and in turn much more fun to slaughter opponents from level 63 to 75, once you get past island 4 to 7.

That brings me on to another topic, the sevi islands, 7 islands of beauty, with complex yet doable pussles reading braile, and using you're HM's to their maximum compatibility and even pokemon from Gold and Silver. Also you get to solve an "Unown" mystery and because of all this it starts to feel like a Zelda game, and who would complain about that!

Whats better is that you can now name you're rival again, simple yet pleasing, also a friend suggested you name you're first pokemon Away, so when you send it out all you're opponent sees is "Go Away" and my personall favourite "Get a Life" which works well too. Now you can also get Eevee, which as all pokemon fans know, it has many evolutions depending on stone or time of day, this pokemon is vital for all trainers.

Then theres the actuall adventure, like all pokemon games its quite short but the sevi islands lengthen that by a good 5 hours, as it takes a while to figure out what to do, in total 15 hours are spent on adventure and after the league you may be hooked for months. Also even afer 150 hours of excitement I'm still exploring new nooks and crany's, from the dunsparce cave thing to the tressur beach, which I only found last week, I found these places on Leaf Green, I no longer have Fire Red.

Finally there is the trainer card system, which rates you depending on how ofen you do certain things, the best level most trainers get is bronze. However I now have caught every single pokemon so I have Silver, and I still have to get Gold. Luckily I'm quite close, just have to hatch 220 more eggs... this could take a while.

All in all this game is stunning and its retro landscape still excites me, the legendary music and the cheerfull graphics and gameplay. If I could this game would get enfinite out of ten as it gets better every day, but realistically 10 is good enough!
Leaf Green is slightly better as the exclusive pokemon are a little cooler, in my opinion!
