There was a Million ways to screw this re-make up, Gamefreak did not commit a single one.

For longtime Pokemon players (such as myself,) nothing can truly replicate the experience of playing the first generation Pokemon games (For me, Red,) but Pokemon FireRed does much more than just try to recreate that feeling, it tries to build on it.
GameFreak changes little in this extremely faithful remake of Pokemon Red, and as remakes go, it is extremely well done. Never do you get the feeling of boredom or "I've done this before..." you instead turn each corner expecting what is coming, yet trying to anticipate what is new content is coming (Islands 1-7 anybody?)
As for the new content, it is a refreshing twist on an old tale. Redesigning Victory Road, Mewtwo's Dungeon, and adding 7 new islands to explore is enough to make this game a freestanding addition to the Pokemon Family.
Overall, it is a good game, and made me wish my old Red Cartridge wasn't completely unplayable :-/
And as for Complaints, there is only one. I seriously hoped that there would be another way to get the Gold and Silver Pokemon other than having to play through the steaming pile of Garbage known as Pokemon Colosseum. Alas, there is none.
