Good for Nostalgic pokemon veterans, or those who are new to the world of pokemon- there is something for everyone.

User Rating: 10 | Pocket Monsters HeartGold DS
Pokemon HeartGold is a Nintendo DS rendering of Pokemon: Gold version for Gameboy Color. To anyone who hadn't played it, it looked like a simple re-vamping of a dated game, however there are many reasons that this is a great game.
PROS:
1) Based off of a great game
The GSC series is my personal favorite, as it had a lush environment, 2 regions, and a variety of pokemon and tasks. The new graphics improve on the positive aspects while still keeping the game original.
2) New features
The Pokeathalon is the most notable, a sort of olympics for Pokemon. The best part? Level doesn't matter, so it works for veterans and newbies alike.
3) Pokewalker
The Pokewalker, the most innovative change, allows people to level their pokemon by walking in real life. In fact, new pokemon and items can also be attained in this fashion.

CONS:
1) Level gap
The GSC series is notorious for having extremely weak trainers. This would be alright, but the elite four are moderately powerful, so this leads to many being unable to battle the elite four.
2) 3rd Gym Leader
Again, the GSC series is notorious for the third gym leader, Whitney. So many frustrated people end up throwing their system at the nearest wall due to the sheer difficulty of this trainer.

VERDICT:
10/10. Despite these problems with trainers, this game is perfect- after all, what good is a game that has no element of challenge?
MY ADVICE: Buy this game. NOW. =)
