I am 15 years old and I have been playing pokemon ever since blue and red version came out in '99 (Australian release) and I loved it. I thought it was very creative and to think that it was done with a simple program similar to RPG gamemaker. After I had finished red and blue yellow came out and I also finished that. It wasn't until 2008 when I found out how to capture Mew THE REAL WAY! NO JOKES! http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~jdonald/pokemon/mewglitch.html THAT WEBSITE IS REAL! Sorry for all the caps I just had to get my message across. Anyway. Gold silver and crystal had the same gameplay and creativity which I also loved. The way the pokemon moved was awesome but they did go over board.
The only bad thing is that you cannot trade to the 3rd gen games :( but anyway. After playing ruby and sapphire, I played Emerald and I just loved it the most. I know I may sound a little weird here but I don't love it in that way, lol. I am still playing emerald because I don't have a ds. Today (9th July 2010) I logged 394 and 52 mins. and with my pokedex of 393 pokemon. BUT! While I was playing pokemon xd gale of darkness I caught the shadow lugia and purified it and then traded it to emerald making my pokedex 394! Only missing celebi and suicune. I am still have fun with this game even though I have done everything.
To anybody that hasn't got pokemon emerald I recommend that you get it, you will have fun for ages.
