Pokemon. A new version. What is there to say? It's fun, alright. But look closer, and all you'll see is true genius.

Pokemon Emerald is one of my favorite games. There's no doubt that by completing your Pokedex , you are fulfilling one of the most satisfying moments possible in the gaming life. To see why Emerald deserves such praise is the novelties. The fresher, cleaner interface and re-vamps on available Pokemon (Sudowoodo, both Groudon & Kyogre, etc.) provide a pleasant apology to what Sapphire and Rubie lacked. Not only does Emerald pack both Sapphire and Ruby, it polishes them up into a seamless work that is both efficient and pleasantly retains your interest. I found that the greatest Pokemon weakness was the bridge between the Elite Four and Pokedex completion. It was a weak stretch of time where the Player often found themselves wandering aimlessly, just hoping to find one Pokemon after another. Emerald changes this completely. There is (PLOT SPOILERS): 1) a new area 2) new Pokemon 3) Johto Pokemon 4) re-battlable Gym leaders. That's all I remember. However, in Emerald, I've never done a 'New Game' except for the obvious first time and have trained a baby Salamence that I especially bred to get a female with Hydro Pump. Call me crazy, but that's Pokemon.
