Great RPG for the not-so-serious gamer. Not super hard, but not too easy either. Decent story, and likable characters!

I got a PSP as a gift for Xmas. As a closet gamer, I was not expecting one, and didn't really have any idea what games to get. I really like RPGs...I love the Legend of Legaia games for PS2 and was looking for something comparable for the PSP. I'm very glad I ended up getting this game first. I really like the battle model....sometimes you can get yourself in tight spots and end up not being able to use a character, but for the most part it makes battles concise and simple. The story is cheesy, but really, what RPG besides FF doesn't have a cheesy story. I really like a game I can solve and that doesn't seem to be working against you the whole time. This one does it for me. I'm about 15hrs into playing and a little over halfway thru. The load times are acceptable. The soundtrack is cute, but gets very old after a few hours of playing. Thankfully you don't really need to hear anything, so you can substiute your own background music without loosing any of the gameplay. All in all, I was very impressed with the first RPG that I was able to get my hands on for the PSP. It may even hold me enough to play it more than once!
