A Very Good Remake But.....
There were 2 2D games released Prince Of Persia in 1989 & Prince Of Persia 2 - Shadow And The Flame in 1990. Both were the greatest games of that era and is my most memorable and cherished games.
Coming to Prince Of Persia Classic, its the remake of the classic prince of persia released in 1989 (The first one).
The game is fairly similiar wit quite a lot of updates from the old one.
Obviously the entire graphics were revamped. The one thing i did not like infact hated about this game is the characters. The Prince was not the old cool guy who would realisticly struggle to climb up legdes.
The Prince used in this game is the Sands Of Time guy. Surely it makes the game very easy. But its **** The Prince can Back Flip 360 degrees. He can do insane stunts. So basically the charm that the old game had, i.e. the charm that made you feel even you could do it or you were doing it is gone.
The beautiful princess is replaced by some bar girl, maybe farah. Senseless and the vizier Jaffar is fairly the same in all games 2D and 3D. So doesnt matter.
The gore of the TRAPS is gone. Remember the old school Cutter trap that straight cut you in half and it showed in the 1989 game. Here you will see only a slight blood and the body is not even cut.
The story start and end are all similiar.
OVERALL, if you have played the legendary 2D games before, dont play this. Makes you feel you are playing a different game. Instead play the old game again. Sands Of Time fans and fans who love side scrolling games and play this. BUT Dont expect much.
I just hope they dont make a remake of the 2nd prince of persia - shadow and the flame calling it Prince Of Persia 2 Classic.
