First, let me say that I have not finished the game, in fact I am only 33% into it, but already it's clear that this is a title which does justice to it's lineage. The gameplay is challenging without being sadistic, and is a lovely blend of control skill and concentration. Little in this game seems "arbitrary"... a fact that others looking to produce games of this type should take note of. The most striking thing about this game however, is the MASTERFUL execution of the temporal controls you're given through the dagger. This COULD have been a cheap gimmick, but in PoP it's a integral part of the game, and looks FANTASTIC. the enemies you fight are repetitive, but not painfully so, and you will not tire of the elegant and stunning moves the prince has. At one point I slowed down time, ran to a fountain for a drink (health boost) while evading an enemy with a large hammer. As I drank, I saw him swinging a (very very large) hammer at my legs in a wide arc. I lept (in slow motion, time was slowed remember?) and the hammer passed JUST under my legs, striking and stunning the OTHER enemy to my left I had not even seen. This is the future of gaming.
