Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is the type of game anyone can pick up on the spot and really enjoy.

One of the things I liked best about Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was how satisfying and visually appealing the entire presentation of the game was but also how being "really flashy" did not mean that the controls in the game would be difficult to master and they weren't. As an artist myself the art direction in video games lands an important spot on my list and so naturally the beautiful scenery and subtle details in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time immediately caught my attention. Also the fact that the game is narrated by the prince himself so you feel that you are truly living a fantasy story… speaking of the story…

THE STORY: You play as a Middle-Eastern Prince (unnamed) who's like super acrobatic/athletic/sword-master with a mystical dagger that controls the "sands" of time, who has a girlfriend named Farah, and who has to travel through this huge Middle-Eastern Palace filled with traps and "sand" zombies to kill the evil villain who got you into this mess in the first place and restore everything back to the way it was before and live happily ever after (sort of)

THE GAMEPLAY: Solve fun and interesting puzzles built within the palace and fight a variety of "sand" zombies along the way using your wits, brains, and the Prince's seemingly unlimited array of acrobatic and martial artistic moves. You'll run along walls, balance on ledges, wall jump, climb pillars, and run across ostensibly treacherous surfaces, all pulled off with uncomplicated controls. And don't worry too much about messing up or dying, this is where your dagger comes in. Your dagger has slots filled with sand and if you die you can use one slot to rewind time about 10 seconds. Getting stuck in the puzzles isn't too much of a problem either since the game is very helpful with hints and though levels appear large in scale Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is actually linear all the way through so getting lost is impossible too.

THE BOTTOM LINE: If you love the Fantasy genre on any sort of level Prince of Persia: Sands of Time will immediately capture you with it's simply yet fantastic story, beautiful level designs, entertaining characters and character interaction (The Prince's and Farah's conversations are genuinely funny) flashy yet rewarding game play and exciting yet not overly difficult combat.
