From the start to finish this game truly immerses and amazes the gamer with its beautiful world and characters.

At a first glance Prince of Persia:the Sands of Time might appear to be an ordinary action/adventure game. Apon further inspection the gamer will relise that it is far from the ordinary. The graphics in this game are flat out gorgeous. It really helps to draw you into its world of ancient Persia. It does an amazing job of immersing you into the game and make you feel as if you are truely exploring a huge ancient castle fit for kings. At the begining of the game you start off with merely a blade in hand. After playing for a while you stumble across a weapon known as The Dagger of Time. This enables your character to bend, change, and reforge time as he sees fit. Combat is centered around useing the dagger to dispense of foes. After attcking and weaking the enemy the only way to finish them off is by thrusting the dagger into them to be obsorbed. Obsorbing a defeated foe refills your sand gauge. Sand gauges are needed to use the dagger to its full extent. It has a varity off different abilities fit for different situations. For example, if running along a wall to cross a gap with a spike filled bottom and you accedently fall, the dagger's abilities can be used to rewind time to prevent this mishap from ever happening. Although the combat at times can seem a little repeatative, the game offers up a nice combination of puzzles and action elements that keep the game intresting. Sound, like the graphics, is superb. There is nothing better than walking down a huge hallway in a deserted castle with only the echoes of your footsteps to keep you company. The voice acting of the prince and his associate Farah is also top notch. Hearing the two of them argue about their situation over a large crevass in the ground with their voices echoeing is truely marvelous. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a amazing game that I encourage any fan of the action genre to pick up.
