A modern Classic

Unlike most hard core gamers I have never played any of the original prince of persias and as such this was my introduction to the series and what an impression it made. I first found out about it on a demo disc and once I'd checked it out I just couldn't stop playing. The animation is so fluid and the graphics so good that they really help sell the experience. You really do feel like you ARE the prince (I'll call him the prince for now coes I still don't know his real name). You'll never play anything quite like this, that I can promise you. I mean sure theres been hundreds of platformers and action games released in the past but none that have metged the two genres so well. For one thing this isn't your typical platforming; you'll spend half your time running up and along walls, dodging traps and generally messing with time thus erasing all those annoying deaths caused by tricky jumps and unseen traps, its so much fun it makes you want to wish you could rewind time in real life, its quite a shock when you stop playing and discover that you can't. The graphics have this great look to them and the game has this whole arabian feel with great affects everywhere. The game just looks cool whenever you do something, ANYTHING. The fighting may be a tad on the shallow side but my God does it rock. The music is just as great with great voice acting and scores to help pull you in. All this combined with a great plot that's well told makes this one game you just shouldn't miss out on.
