Get ready for a darker, angrier Prince.
The Prince isn't as likable. That's it, that's the only reason. Everything is improved upon. The darker tone isn't as 'fun', but it really adds to the story. Although most of us don't like the new angry and cocky Prince, once you play The Two Thrones, you'll know why it was necessary to the plot. On to the review.
Gameplay: More puzzle and environmental elements have been added since the SoT. Most are an improvement, but be aware that more features also means more stuff to learn. The combat has had some major 'improvements' (keep in mind I don't like the combat at all in the PoP series) including new moves and the fact that you can now duel wield. (there are swords, axes, maces, etc) The main part of the game that I enjoyed were the Dahaka chases, you'll have to play the game to know what I mean.
Sound: Well, if you like Godsmack, well no, I like Godsmack, but they DON'T BELONG IN PoP!! Well I guess it's not too bad, but it really takes away from the immersion. Other than that, the combat music is pretty good, and there are a few other memorable compositions.
Extras/Unlockables: This is my favorite PoP in this area. There are two endings, nine life upgrades, (only) five sand tanks, then all the artwork (which you must find in the game to unlock). I love extra stuff like this, but there's just one problem...
Bugs/Glitches: This game is FULL of them, and it's really too bad. This would be a lot better of a game without them. As I said above, I love the extra stuff in this game, except that bugs/glitches can mess it up for you. I'll give you two major examples. First, to get the secret ending you need to have all nine life upgrades. The problem is, there are glitches that prevent you from moving around this 'non-linear' world. So if you miss one, your pretty much screwed. That was fine in SoT, because they didn't say it was a non-linear game, this time there's no excuse. Second, NEVER go back into a Sand Portal, if you do it could cripple your game and you'll have to start all over.
So, other than the bugs/glitches, and the fact that the Prince is kind of a prick, this game rocks!
