I am a huge fan of the Prince of Persia game. That being said, this Mobile game did not fail to deliver. (8.25/10)
First off, the game looks fantastic. There are only about 2-3 different environments but they all look great and have enough detail to make you take notice but not to distract you. The characters, while also somewhat limited in variety look great as they are and the animations are usually pretty fluid. I will say that for a cell phone game, this definitely did impress me. The effects are nice and the art is crisp and clear.
The sound, as I have always found in cell phone games, is extremely lacking. The main menu jingle is nice, and the minimal sound effects are generally well placed, but in truth the sound in this game is mostly non-existent.
The game plays fantastically though. The story is simple, but keeps you going, loosely following the story of its console brethren. The cutscenes are told through little monologues with Temptresses of Time (when you play you will see) and little monologues with the Prince during gameplay. They are well-placed.
The controls are well-done as well. You move with the basic keys (4, 6), jump or block depending on whether you swords are drawn or not with 2, jump or do acrobatic attacks (3, 1), attack with 5, crouch with 8, draw your swords and stop time. The neat thing about this game is that as you continue through the game, you unlock all sorts of combos and finishing moves that give the combat some actual depth. The enemies are varied enough to force you to actually change up your combat style as you play and the controls are very responsive to boot. Even better are the fun platforming segments that capture the fun and feel of the console brethren while still remaining functional on a cell phone.
Unfortunately, this game is extremely short (a nod towards the console versions), and will likely not take you more than a couple hours max to beat. Still, it is fun for every minute you spend. As a bonus, is an Arena mode you unlock (completely unlock I mean) after beating the game which is basically a nonstop fight against a ton of enemies. It is a great way to test your skills, and you unlock a neat little bonus from doing that as well.
All in all, this game offers much more than any cell phone game I have ever played. It is extremely fun, responsive, looks great and actually gives you reason to come back and keep playing after completion (and I don't count the puzzle games, because they are meant to be played infinitely). If there is one action game you buy for your cell phone, make it this one. Enjoy.
