Bloody, gory, and extremely violent, but sometimes, even that can get boring.
User Rating: 7.3 | Prince of Persia: Warrior Within PS2
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is the sequel to one of the best games, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. You play as the much darker and much more brutal Prince and you are plunged into a much darker storyline filled with twists and turns. The graphics lack a bit, but it suits the game's feel. Most of the environments are bright and shiny and it kind of robs the game of its dark hemisphere. The "free style" fighting system is excellent. Once you come up with an unbeatable combo, no enemies will stand in your way. Yet, when you don't want to bust out kick ass looking combos, the game puts you down where the Prince is just swinging his swords and for some reason, it doesn't feel quite right, so that you HAVE to use the "free style" system. What was cool was how the Prince can pick up another weapon that he can use to throw at enemies, use as a secondary weapon, or to unleash more brutal attacks. The game reminds me of Conker the Squirral. He use to be an all age okay character and then, he ended up in Bad Fur Day. Well, that is what happened here. The Prince in the first game was more gentle and was a warrior in search of redemption. In this game, he is a blood-thirsty slaughterhouse on the run from a spiritual foe. I don't know why I didn't feel comfortable with this game. I think it's because all feeling of Prince of Persia isn't as strong as it was in the first game. You can tell by looking on the back of the box that this game is much more mature with its Blood-and-Gore and Sexual-Themes. I have beaten the game so I would know. *Chuckle*
