The only game of its kind.

User Rating: 6.6 | Pro Cycling Manager Season 2006: Le Tour de France PC
It's a funny time to write this review as it is almost a week after the Tour de France ended and a day after the news about Floyd Landis' dope test results but it was the excitement of this years Tour that made me get my hands on a copy of this game a couple of weeks ago where just like in its predecessors you take full control as manager of a team and decide what riders to contract and who to line-up for each race.

Having played its predecessors Cycling Manager 3 and 4 a few years back there were a few nice improvements to discover in the aspects of in-race management aspects. Especially with the regards to team tactics and working out the final mass sprints of a race. A big dissapointment however is that this is where most of the improvements stop. A highlight that needs to be mentioned is that Cyanide finally acquired the Pro Tour license and more of the authentic team and cyclists' names are in the game but sadly it is still not 100%.

While the graphics are definetely an improvement with more enthusiastic supporters along the roads they still look below par with current possibilities in this aspect the game looks like it is at least 4 years old. The sound isn't much better but it is good enough to make it work. Besides, who needs anything more than the sound of the turning wheels?
