Sequel to the Professor Layton series, it still holds up it's reputation: witty, hilarious, and surprisingly fun puzzles that'll just suck you in it. With it's cartoon graphics, it fits snuggly with the Nintendo DS, and with it's unique cut scenes, it justs add up to it's undeniable charm.
Puzzles pops out everywhere, keeping the gamer on it's toes or at least, his/her brain. Puzzles get harder and harder but even better. The mini-games are good enchancements too, a great spice to the game.
In the start of the game, a very infamous item, the Elysian Box, fell into the hands of a professor, Dr. Schrader, who, was a teacher of Professor Hershel Layton, the main protagonist of the game. The Elysian Box is famous for killing anyone who opens it, thus being believed it is cursed. Now, Dr. Schrader planned to open it, to finish his research about it, but before he opened it, he sent a message to Layton about his research and his plan to open it. If anything happened to him, he requested Professor Layton and Luke, his apprentice, to finish his research.
Being curious why Dr, Schrader didn't reply, the team went to the doctor's apartment, only finding him dead. But, when they came there, they have found no box that was supposed to be the culprit of the crime. Although, they have found a strange ticket with no destination on it. They have called the authorities and being suspected of suicide by Inspector Chemley, the Professor has been investigating himself and has found out that someone has stolen the box.
There marks their adventure. Determined to find the truth, they set out to investigate the Elysian Box and uncover the very truth behind it.
