This is the best puzzle game of the year.
THE BAD: -Some Puzzles are to complicated for memo feature, -Missed Opportunies for storyline, -Too Toned Down.
GRAPHICS: 9.5/10
The graphics look great. A wonderful choice of design and art style. The game also has a cute charm to keep you looking for more beautiful graphics. The cutscenes look fantastic as well.
GAMEPLAY: 9.5/10
The puzzles are the star of this game. They are cleverly planed and keep your brain going. The hints are usually helpful and there are tons of hint coins to keep you brain from exploding. The game has a strange addictive feeling, meaning it well keep you playing for that next puzzle to solve. The puzzles also have a great memo feature, allowing you to write any thoughts you need to keep in mind to solve the puzzle. However, some of the puzzles are to complex to be able to write everything down. There are over 150 puzzles, and I hope to find every single one. Other than sloving puzzles, you move around London to solve the mystery. It is always fun when you tap a object and get a hint coin because it is very rewarding. Half the time, I just tap everything on screen and I usually find 3 or 4.
Also, there are 3 minigames. The Picture book is way to easy, but the Toy Car is way to challenging. Overall, I think the puzzles are challenging and keep you playing for a long time.
STORYLINE: 9.0/10
The story in this game is mad good. I love how Level5 left so many cliffhangers at the beginning to keep you guessing. The story also has a huge twist somewhere in the middle. Unforetunately, I think the story could have been darker and more mature. I think there were some missed chances to make the story epic. The story is superb, but not excellent.
AUDIO: 9.5/10
The voice acting in the game is extremely good, however I would have liked more voiceover. The music is decent, and the sound effects are good too.
CONTROLS: 9.0/10
The touchpad is used nicely, with very little control f*ckups. I liked how accurate the memo feature was as well.
REPLAY VALUE: 8.5/10
With over 150 puzzles, and a lengthy game, you have at least 15 hours. The game has 3 minigames, which I found kinda boring. Sadly, there is no other modes to keep you playing, which I thought was a drag. But if you stick to the great puzzles, you will enjoy the game if you still beat it.
PROFESSOR LAYTON AND THE UNWOUND FUTURE: 9.5/10
