Tattoos

So I was watching Bones and I noticed a tattoo on David Boreanaz's wrist. It looked like a black squiggle. So I was very curious to find out what it ment. He has a Kanji tattoo on each wrist one means "Soul" and the other means "Destiny" His wife Jamie has the same tattoos...how freakin' sweet is that?!?!?! Heres a pic of his tattoos... Here are pics of what the symbols look like (keep in mind they can be written horizontally OR vertically)... "Soul" "Destiny" I've got 4 tattoos already... A butterfly on my hip, A gecko on my shoulder, A cat on my ankle, & A chinese symbol meaning "Honey" on my lower back. But now I really really want to get the soul tattoo and have my hubby get the same because I think it's such a sweet idea. Maybe if I can convince him to do it, we will. Either that or he'll talk me out of it :)

Buffy's Orbit!

My hubby found this some place and emailed it to me. I think its neat! According to another article it is named after Buffy from the show... "These traits make the object, nicknamed 'Buffy' after the US television series about a vampire slayer, hard to explain. 'Maybe Buffy is going to be a bit of a theory slayer,' Allen told New Scientist." Buffy Stands Out From The Crowd Image hosted by Photobucket.com The new object's orbit compared to the orbits of several representative Kuiper belt objects. Buffy's orbit is shown in red, with a green square marking its current position. The blue triangles mark the positions of the other Kuiper belt objects whose orbits are shown. Currently 58 astronomical units from the Sun (1 astronomical unit, or AU, is the distance between the Earth and the Sun), the new object never approaches closer than 50 AU, because its orbit is close to circular. Almost all Kuiper belt objects discovered beyond Neptune are between 30 AU and 50 AU away. Beyond 50 AU, the main Kuiper belt appears to end, and what few objects have been discovered beyond this distance have all been on very high eccentricity (non-circular) orbits. Most of these high-eccentricity orbits are the result of Neptune "flinging" the object outward by a gravitational slingshot. However, because this new object does not approach closer than 50 AU, a different theory is needed to explain its orbit. Complicating the problem, the object's orbit also has an extreme tilt, being inclined (tilted) at 47 degrees to the rest of the Solar System. The Discovery and Follow-up The object, which received the official designation 2004 XR 190 in the International Astronomical Union's official announcement, was discovered during routine operation of the Canada-France Ecliptic Plane Survey (CFEPS) running as part of the Legacy Survey on the Canada France Hawaii Telescope. For now, the discoverers are using the temporary nickname "Buffy" to identify the new object, although they have proposed a different official name in keeping with normal procedures for naming such objects. Buffy was extracted from the mountain of Legacy Survey data (about 50 gigabytes per hour of operation) by powerful computers combing through the telescopic images and producing hundreds of candidates. Astronomers then sift through the candidates to identify the distant comets. Although theories that explain individual objects exist, reproducing the entire ensemble of known objects with one process poses a difficult challenge to current solar system models. Because the unusual objects, like Buffy, are very rare, astronomers are still scratching the surface of the dark corners of the Kuiper belt. Future large-scale surveys that systematically explore the Kuiper belt are the only way unlock the mysteries of what happened early in the history of our Solar System.

Vacation

Today is my last day of work before I get to go on vacation for a week! Yay! We're going to visit my in-laws in Ohio and Indiana so it's gonna be cold, cold, cold. The really sucky thing is that we're driving (I live in Florida). I'm really worried about how Shawn will be in the car on such a long car ride (he's only 17 1/2 months). Plus we're bringing the laptop, but I don't know how much time I'm going to get to actually be on it. I'm supposed to be hanging out with the family. So I may not be on much, if you're reading my blog wondering where I've been (I doubt it but anyway) I'll be back soon!! We're also going to go see a Colts game while we're in Indiana- I'm looking forward to that. And I'm sure I'll hear how cute Shawn is a thousand times (I LOVE that!:D). So I'll miss you all, but I'll be back by the 12th :) [QUOTE="AngelsSlayer's Stats"]

Blah

Blah- thats how I feel today. We're so slow at work I could take a nap and no one would notice!! At least I got a bunch of stuff submitted, and most of them have already been accepted so that should boost me up a good %. [QUOTE="AngelsSlayer's Stats"]

Go Colts!

Yay! My Indianapolis Colts are now 10-0! However, I don't think they'll go undefeated. But it's a huge accomplishment for them to be 10-0. The only team to ever go undefeated in the regular season was the 1972 Miami Dolphins. However, back then there were less teams in the league meaning there were less games in a season. So, the '72 Dolphins went undefeated at 14-0. Now there are more teams so there is a 16 game season, so the Colts have 6 more games to go. Undefeated or not, I just hope they make it to the Superbowl because I'd love to have a party! Switching gears... I made some submissions over the weekend but 11 got denied :( I really think some were a misunderstanding. I was looking over a persons trivia and noticed a ton of duplicates (like 9), so I submitted edits saying that "This is a duplicate trivia for so-and-so" and checked the "Delete This Blurb" box. When I got the message in my box that it wasn't excepted, in the notes section they wrote "no duplicates please." ? :( Maybe it's my fault for not being more specific about what I ment. Oh well. I did have more that were accepted so hopefully that'll boost me up to Level 6 or close. EDIT:11/22/05- I went back to that persons trivia and all the duplicates are gone! WTF? That is completely unfair. My submissions got denied and then the editor made them anyway?? Thats SO F'ed up! [QUOTE="AngelsSlayer's Stats"]

Holiday Work

So, I'm organizing this holiday party we throw for our biggest client (another company). We came up with some good ideas, but now I've been putting it all together and geesh it's a lot of work. I ordered 6 dozen of these neat boxes to put candy, cookies, etc. in. Well they had to be assembled and although the description said simple they were a pain in the butt because of the way they had to be folded. See...Gift Boxes. I also had the bright idea of getting these cute holiday Marabou bird pens. These had to be assembled too. So me and another employee spend 6 hours putting 6 dozen together. We had to use a glue gun to assemble them, so my fingers were red and sore from all the hot glue :( But they came out really cute! See what they look like here... Marabou Pens. So now all I have left to do is set up the lunch (thank goodness I've got someone catering) and bake & decorate the 8 dozen cupcakes. I think next year I'll think through my plan more carefully or deligate more work to others! But at least I got most of the stuff for work done and everything came out really good. Now all I have to do is plan Thanksgiving and Christmas for home and get all my shopping done  And I moved up to Level 4 today, yay! I Finally figured out how to do the nifty stats box :D [QUOTE="AngelsSlayer's Stats"]

Fun at the Circus

We had a wonderful time at the Cirus last night. Shawn got to ride the elephant twice (once w/ me 7 once with dad), he also got to ride a pony. He stood on my husbands lap and watched almost the entire show, not taking his eyes off the action, then he would smile and clap. It was so cute! So I'm very glad that we went, and it didn't cost that much! They had acrobats, trapeze, clowns, the human slinky, motorcycle on a rope, and lots of other cool stuff. My favorite was this one segment with these domestic cats doing all kinds of neat tricks, they were so well trained and so talented, it was great! I moved up to Level 3- 83%, yay!

Cirus Time

So tonight me and my hubby are taking the little one to the cirus. He's only 17 months old so I hope he'll like it and not be scared with all the stuff going on. The ticket says they'll have the Human Slinky, Aerial Bungee, Flying Trapese, Magic, Human Cannonball, Chinese Lions (WTF?), and more. The tickets only $15, but I've got a buy one, get one free coupon (go me!) and the kid gets in free. So I did do some submissions last night when I got home, all of the 12 I've submitted got accepted! Yay! My level didn't go up but I'm 99% through the level I'm at (geesh, I only needed 1%!). But since I'll be at the Circus tonight, I won't be able to do much, hopefully I'll get enough for 1% I haven't figured out how to put the little chart into my blog yet. Level 2-99%

Yay!

I'm up to Level 2. I know thats not a great accomplishment, but hey, its a start. Also, my first submission was accepted! Yay! Ok, again not earth shattering, but exciting for me :P I've done nothing today though, execpt for post on the message boards, so looks like my increase percentage will be quite small tomorrow unless I get my butt in gear when I get home (not likely). And oh! oh! the Chosen Collection comes out today, yippie! Now that's exciting if your a Buffy fan! (and I honestly don't understand why everyone isn't) ;) TTFN
