FUNimation Films has licensed the The Fullmetal Alchemist Movie: Conqueror of Shambala and it's been released in "selected cities" starting August 25th, with a short nationwide released slated for September 8th.
But what the hey? The word I've heard on this site's and IMDB's FMA boards is FUNimation Films has done BUPKIS to promote this film. Not even the theaters it has been showing at have made any attempts at promotion. About the only promotion FUNimation Films has done is on it's own website.
As of today, I'm still hoping a Wisconsin showing near my town will be scheduled - yes, I'm holding my breath - but no, blue isn't my color. (I prefer yellow :P ). I want to see it in a theater setting while surrounded by other anime fans in general, other FMA fans in particular. With popcorn - gotta have popcorn - especially with that fakey theater butter sauce on it. 8)
If you want to see if FMA:CoS is showing near you, please go to www.funimationfilms.com and click the link for the theaters it will be showing in. And tell your friends about it, because word of mouth between fans is probably the only promotion it's likedly to get.
