I've decided that I'm going to write a review on EVERY SINGLE EPISODE, starting from season one. So where better to start, than with the pilot episode?
Review:
Definately a work of genius, and very boldly put out in public. From what I've heard, "Help Wanted" wasn't actually aired until much later in the show, due to copyright issues. Of course, this was when the show was new...fresh and untainted. Stephen Hillenburg had a blank slate to start from, and I personally think he started out very well. Spongebob had a very confident air about him throughout most of the episode, Squidward and Mr. Krabs seemed to hold each other in a higher respect...it's like Christopher Paul Curtis said..."Familiarity Breeds Contempt". If you note in the later episodes, Mr. Krabs and Squidward don't get along quite so well as they did around the beginning of the season.
This episode was incredibly humorous (I'm not going to be professional when I say that...I mean I literally fell over laughing) and very smart, and well planned out.
My personal rating on this episode...
10/10
