My ULTIMATE playlist...two weeks in the making

So about two weeks ago, I officially became about the LAST person in the cyber universe to finally make my own playlist and put it on my myspace page... Yes, yes I know its a little sad, but up until last week I was completely satisfied with only having one song on my page.... I will never go back to that way of thinking again! Playlist.com is great, becasue you can make as many playlists as you want, and find just about ANY song you want to go on it. Which, if you use your computer for pleasuring your eardrums as much as I do, is incredibly convinient. SO! My point to this blog, to show you just how much I got on my single little playlist of 200 songs. If you, for some reason, dont want to read about this, because, say, you dont like music in general or something..... I highly suggest that you leave my page, delete me from your friends and never speak to me again.

Because if you cant love music than you cant live a full life yo!

1. Pearl Jam- Positively my most favorite band...ever. I love PJ, and always will. Ahhhh Eddie Vedder, I want to have your illigitimate children....

2. Cat Stevens- I believe I touched on this in my last blog. Cat is the SH!T. Seriously. Whether you're a hippie or not, his lyrics and music are fantastic and legitimate to this day.

3.Incubus- My second favorite band. I positively LOVE Incubus. Great lyrics, INCREDIBLE sound, super smart Harvard student as a bassist.... I am SO there.

4. Social Distortion- My favorite band, still, from back when I was a greasy punk with dirty pink and blonde hair. They will always hold a super special space in my heart... Along with old AFI, the Swingin Utters and GolGolBordello...

5. Thom Yorke- Yes, he is the front man of Radiohead, and his solo stuff is AMAZING! Any Radiohead, or even SEMI Radiohead fans out there, download some for a listen.... I reccommend Atoms for Peace and Analyze, two fo my favorites of his.

6&7. Amy Winehouse and VanMorrison- I've only got one Wino song on there, and that would be "Valerie" ft. Mark Ronson. Its super. As for Van Morrison, he just has one of the greatest, most husky voices ever, yes?

8. Alison Krause- Alison Kruase is my hero. Her voice is simply hypnotic, and everything I would strive for my voice to be. Lovely.

9. Paramore- I know! I KNOW! Emo is so wrong, but somthing about having a cute redhead chick sing it makes is SO right.

10. Fiona Apple- Positively my FAVORITE, modern female vocalist. I adore her music... She is a must, for everyones collection...EVER.

11,12,13,14. Debussey, Chopin, Bach and Mozart- I think I've touched on this before as well. People dont listen to enough classical these days. Having spent 5 years playing double bass in orchestra, I can gladly say that I developed and overwhelming love for it. Make your kids listen to classical people, it totally DOES pay off.

15,16. YoYoMa, Mendelssohn- YoYoMa is absolutely the most AMAZING cellist ever, and seeing as how my favorite instrument, EVER, is the cello, of course, I admire him greatly. Mendelssohn, one of the most amazing violinists ever. I have tried to play violin, and apparently I have fat fingers or something, because it was horribly diffucult for me. Again, admiration times A BILLION.

17,18. Radiohead, Coldplay- Amazing bands, both of them. They are both also PERFECT for a rainy day. I mean that literally, when its raining, best music ever.

19,20,21. Judy Garland, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald- My favorite female vocalists EVER! (Note how I mentioned that Fiona is my favorite MODERN female vocalist). Poeple now a days dont have voices like these women did, and if they do, they dont get famous. THEY SHOULD. Because anyone who can channel the pure perfection of these womens voices deserves kudos, and lots of recognition and money.

22,23,24. Belle and Sebastian, Bright Eyes, The Brunettes- Belle and Sebastian and The Brunettes are the epitome of cutesy indie music, and I LOVE it. Check em' they're aweosme. Bright Eyes, I have had a long and passionate love affair with for a while.... When I adopt a new dog this summer, his name will be "Oberst"

25,26,27,28. Old Crow Medicine Show, Steel Drivers-,Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline- Now some of you may hate modern country music (I do!) But NO ONE hates folk or bluegrass rooted country music.... I think anyway. Its hard to find these days, what with the Jessica Simpsons, and Rascal Flatts around the country scene, but IT DOES STILL EXIST. I love folk music, and that is predominantly what I sing with my friends Lauren and Alfredo. Old Crow Medicine Show is fantastic and Folk-a-licious, highly, HIGHLY recommended kiddies. As for Steel Drivers, they are really the one that the "country music" statement that I made at the beginning of this paragraph pertains to. Like I said, I really distain modern country music, and have never really been a fan of most ANY country music, but Steel Drivers are the real deal as far as old school, real bluegrass country. Heavily bearded man with sunglasses and a cowboy hat on main vocals and acoustic guitar? Check. Double Bassist (like real, stand up bass)? Check. Cute woman that sings backup AND plays the fiddle? Check. Banjo? Check. STEEL GUITAR? Check. No drums, no electric guitar, just total old school awesomeness. As for Patsy and Dolly, they are completely and totally my guilty pleasures...but I'm really not that embarrassed seeing as they are legends, most defenately.

29,30,31. Zero 7,Muse, Theivery Corporation- Zero 7, I just love their vocalist's voice, and their mellow sound. Muse, is just GREAT. I have loved all of their work, and continue to to this day. Theivery Corporation, I can just get lost in for hours. Amazing, hypnotic, fantastic group.

32,33,34,35. Cream, Eric Clapton, Simon and Garfunkel, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers- Cream=awesome, Simon and Garfunkel=awesome. Eric Clapton and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers= EVEN MORE AWESOME. I love Eric Clapton and TPHB, and owe that entirely to my parents (as I do with much of my music taste). How many of you can listen to "Tears in Heaven" and not cry? EH?! I want to know, honestly, because if you cant, then you're NOT HUMAN.

36. The Beatles- Need I even Elaborate on this? If I do it will only take me, like, 5 paragraphs. So lets skip that and just have everyone assume they know why the Beatles are so incredible. Moving on....

37,38. Elton John, Bob Dylan-The one and only TRUE male diva ever, Mr. Elton John, and one of the most amazing and talented preformers and song writers ever, Bob Dylan. "Crocodile Rock" AMAZING. "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" Fantastic. The best song written by Mr. John EVER though? "Tiny Dancer" Hands down, one of my favorite songs ever. I love almost all Bob Dylan...With the exception of his most recent cd. "Hurracaine" and "Sara" are two of my favorite songs EVER.

39,40,41. Johnny Cash, Elliot Smith, The Snake The Cross The Crown-Johnny Cash, for me, is a sensitive subject. Is it great that more young people know about him? Of course. Does it piss me off that most of them had no interest in him until a movie came out about his life? Yeah, a little. I've been listening to Cash since my mom had him playing while changing my diapers people! Anyway, Elliot Smith, incredible man, its really to bad that he ended his life so early, I love his music, and his fearlessness to write about whatever he wanted, and make it into beautiful, heart wrenching music. The Snake The Cross The Crown, great band thats been around for about 7 years now. Love their music, and stumbled across them thanks to my bestie Katie B. Check em yo! I dont know why this is in bold, but I cant fix it...Sorry friends.

So what artists and songs would you have on your ultimate playlist, and why? Let me know my friends!

Yay! My prolific return to TV.com (again) and a hilarious update on my life

Sorry I haven't been on good ol' TV.com in a while, but I've been insanely busy in the last few weeks...Okay, Okay, the last MONTH or so. Sue me, alright? Anyway, this is an update and rambling about my life at current...try to bear with me and enjoy it!

First of all.... OBAMA!!! Holy crap. Sorry to any McCain supporters out there, you may want to skip past this little paragraph of my blog. I cant even tell you how incredible November 4th was for me! I have worked my happy little hiney off campaigning and volunteering with fellow friends and Obama supporters, and let me tell you, it was SO worth it!!! Being in Denver in the Middle of the DNC was stressful to be sure, but so educational as well. I work in a hotel in the Denver Tech Center, and for the love of god, it was certainly hellish for me while I was at work, but being out in Denver during the convention was like a dream come true for a hard core Dem like myself. Allow me to also say that I am so, SO terribly proud of everyone that turned out to vote, regardless of who you voted for. We had record turn outs in possibly the most historic election of our time. One of the most rewarding things about this election is that it has taught young voters that they CAN make a difference, and that they CAN be the change that they want to see in this world. I laughed, I cried, I worked my can off for this election, and I cant even say how excited and thrilled I am to possibly see the change coming in this country that I have so desperately hoped for since before I could even vote.

Move...If there is another great thing in my life right now that barely, literally, just barely, outshines B.O's landslide of a win, it's the fact that I just moved into my new condo! That's right folks! I'm officially a home owner, and also one step closer to being the old shut in hag with 23 cats like I've always wanted...Wait, what? Anyway, all very exciting, but not super interesting to read or write about, so moving on...

Cat Stevens... Cat Stevens has pretty much improved my life in an infinite amount of ways. First of all, and after this, I SWEAR no more election references, Cat Stevens was pretty much the best post election music I could have hoped for, being surpassed only by Queens, "We are the Champions". I love Cat's lyrics and his message as a whole. "Peace Train", "Cant Keep It In", "Ready to Love" and of course "Wild World" are some of my favorites of the several cd's of his that I own. My absolute, absolute favorite Cat song of all time though, has to be "Father and Son". Not exactly the most uplifting of his songs, but definitely one that will resonate with generations, for, I don't know, like, EVER. If you are not familiar with this song, I recommend that you listen to it, download it, or purchase it right away. The lyrics and message are so incredible....Amazing, that Cat Stevens is.

Narnia... Let me just start my telling you all this incredible story of adventure, intrigue, suspense, and ultimately, my wasting of our finite resources. My best, bestest friend Angi and I share the same Birthday (Oct 2nd, if your really interested). Sadly, my lovely girl moved to Philly last year, and my heart broke! But alas! She has returned for our birthday the last two years that she has been gone. Moving on, I go to meet Angi at the airport with my friend Lauren. She's getting picked up by her sister Jacquie, but I went to meet her anyway because it was our birthday, duh. So after much hugging and love, Lauren and I leave in my car and Ang and Jax leave in Jax's car. The plan was to meet at Jacquie's house so that Ang could drop off her stuff and then proceed to the Chipotle in Aurora. Well, I've driven out to the airport maybe, like, 6 times in my life in my 15 years in good ol' Colorado, and actually, I've never been the one driving. It was always my parents or a friend, blah, blah, blah. Why am I telling you this? To give you an idea of how f-ing directionally impared I am whilst out in the boonies by Denver International Airport. Not only are we heading home from the airport, which is bad enough as it is for me, but we have to drive through friggin Aurora, pretty much one of the most confusing, and seedy parts of CO, and its absolutely massive, one of the biggest counties in this state. Lauren and I end up WAY far away from where Jacquie lives, and 45 minutes later (Its SUPPOSED to be a 15 minute drive, if you have any clue where you're going) Ang calls me saying "Where the hell are you guys. Did you get lost?" (She knows me too well) I tell her we're out in some scary neighborhood in Aurora, on Martin Luther King Drive. Now Ang lived in Aurora for 7 years before moving back to Philly, and even she has no clue where Lauren and I were, and has never heard of Martin Luther King Drive. Super. Lauren is freaking out in my passenger seat saying we're going to get shot or carjacked. I, on the other hand, am reasonably calm, having been lost in the south side of Chicago, in Stoney Island, (I do not recommend it!), and Aurora really isn't scary to me anymore. Wasting gas, on the other hand, totally is. So finally Lauren and I see a sign saying it will lead us back to the interstate. Halleluiah! So we go through a few more crappy neighborhoods, still recognizing NOTHING, and then pop out onto I-25! Yay! Except for this little stunner. WE ARE ALL OF THE WAY ON THE OTHER SIDE OR FRIGGIN DENVER. Literally, all of the way PAST Denver, like, on our way to Fort Collins and Boulder, over by the dog food factories. "How did this happen? How did we get out here?" Lauren asks. To which I respond, with literally, the only good and logical response I could come up with, "I think we were in Narnia for a while there. Now we've returned home through a magical portal...". An hour and fifteen minutes after leaving the airport (again, a supposed 15 minite drive), we arrived at Chipotle. The point of this story? You might be asking yourself this question right now, and the answer to that is, that, I came up with a great excuse for getting lost, wasted half a tank of gas, and, at Chipotle, drank a beer with my veggie burrito at 12:15 in the afternoon! Go Me!

Extra Side of Meat Please?....This is just a short, funny little thing that happened this weekend. I'm at Chilies with my boy, grabbing a bite after a weekend of moving crap into the new place, and as we're sitting there waiting for our food, we hear the guy in the booth next to ours making his order. Now I previously worked in the restaurant industry, and I know how weird and obnoxious people can be when ordering, but this one was just weird. Not just to me, as I don't tend to eat much meat, but also to my boyfriend, who was most definately a carnivore. So this guy orders a rack of ribs, and instead of veggies on the side, he just wants a side of meat....Really? Not just any side of meat though, a hamburger patty. Just a plain, hamburger patty. Are you kidding me? Do you want to die of a heart attack before the age of 30? Do you really hate ALL veggies that much that you cant get mashed or fried potatoes, those aren't even a veggie really!...People blow my mind sometimes.

BestWeekEver.tv... Friends, please check out this blog by the peeps on "Best Week Ever" at VH1. Absolute hilarity, you could spend hours on this site reading the blogs by Dan, Michelle and Sara, seriously fun.

Ishmael....So I first read the book "Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn when I was in 11 grade, and I thought it was pretty amazing back then. Well, I recently re-read it in the last couple of weeks, and let me tell you, I appreciate it SO much more now, with only 5 more years of life under my belt. I highly recommend this book to EVERYONE if you have not already read it. Is it about a talking gorilla? Yes. Is it one of the most influential and amazing things you'll ever mentally ingest? Indeed. Seriously, pick it up, or borrow it from your local library. I recommend just buying it because it is SO good that you'll instantly just want to add it to your home library. So just go buy it already.

So that's it! Random drabbles of Aly are now over. Tune in next week!

Tina Fey vs. Sarah Palin, Bleach returns, Elfen Lied, bloobity bloo blog

Tina Fey for the win!

Now I dont know if anyone has been watching SNL lately, but if there's one thing you can be sure of, it's that whenever its an election year, there are going to be some GOLDEN skits on that show. No matter if everything in the 8 months leading to the last 2 months before the election suck, every political skit leading up to the election is going to be a classic. I have to say though, the ones this year, are the best since the 1996 Clinton election. Tina Fey was absolutely meant to play Sarah Palin, and she does an INCREDIBLE job. I can't seem to stop laughing whenever I watch her. Even if your a republican, this stuff is hilarious! How do I know? Because even my repub friends agree.

Please, PLEASE watch her following skits here

MAVERICK!

Anyway, moving onto other things....Heroes, rockin my socks off right now. I was telling Meow today that I feel like I have to pause the episodes about 3 times just so I can catch my breath and slow my heart rate. I get so worked up over everything. This weeks episode was AWESOME! That is all.

Bleach. I cannot wait for the HM arc to return. Captains fights and Nel coming...Holy crap.

Blood+. Awesome. Picked a few of the DVD's up at my local anime convention, and it is super fantastic.

Elfen Lied. Cool, creepy, deep, dark, awesome. Not for the faint of heart. Finally finished that online. I was quite pleased. It's defenatly has a story line that makes you question the deepest recesses of the human mind, and the darkest parts of human nature. Pretty cool.

Last but not least, something that has been entertaining me to no end lately, the bumps on Adult Swim. Always hilarious, especially the one they have on right now about the economical crisis.

Things That Entertain Me and Things That Should Entertain Me, But Dont.

So the other day, I was sitting on my computer, as I often do at work, with nothing to work on. I was trying to figure out what I could do to keep myself mentally engaged enough that my brain didnt feel like it would atrophy before I got to go home. Anyway, then I started to think about things that keep me entertained and keep me busy, and things that just upset me and make me angry, because, they should be entertaining, but honestly aren't. This is the list I came up with. WARNING:May contain some spoilers for Bleach and Heroes.

Things that Should Entertain me, but tend to just make me mad...

1. Bleach Anime (at current)

Yeah, I know you're all thinking, "But Miyako! You love Bleach! You're only ever on the Bleach forums. Arent you unnaturally obsessed with Renji!?". Well the answer is yes, I do love Bleach. Yes, I only really ever post on the Bleach Forums, and, yes, I'm in love with an animated character. BUT, what I hate about Bleach right now, is this horrid, aggrivating filler arc! GAH! It makes me want to punch myself in the face, because that would be less painful than watching this!!! In all seriousness though, this is how I came to this conclusion the other day. So, I decided to check up on the thread in the Bleach forums last week, titled "Official Episode Discission. Spoilers up to current episodes in Japan." , or somrthing like that. Well, I decided to do this because I had stopped watching the anime a while ago, due to that fact that I had the manga, and really had no interest in watching a new filler arc, so I figured I would just start watching the anime again when it picks back up in Hueco Mundo. So whilst on the thread, I read that Amagai has gone bad, and out of curiosity, decided to watch a few of the most recent episodes (186-188). Well let me tell you...Man was I dissappointed! I love Bleach, LOVE IT! As such, it is very hard for me to say that it doesnt make me happy. This filler is awful. The story line is lacking, I really feel no attachment to any of the new characters, and the whole "OH MY GOD! A captain has gone bad!" Thing is kinda old, but only in this instance. You know why? It's because no matter how anyone defects from SS from now on, they're never going to be as evil (or as cool) as Aizen, Tousen and Gin. Stupid Amagai cant even compare. I was just so dissapointed while watching it. I didnt really mind the Bount arc that much, but his one makes me want to pull my hair out...ugh.

2. Law and Order:SVU

I love L&O SVU. Really, I do, but I think it's loosing its steam. I mean, there are only so many crimes that you can rearrange different ways for so many episodes, and I find myself being able to guess who did it within the first 15-20 minutes... Which makes me sad, because I love Elliot, Olivia, Munch and Tutuola.

3. Blue Collar Comedy

Its supposed to be hilarious....It really just makes me mad. It also makes me hate red necks more than I already do.

4. Political Commercials

Considering I work with The Young Voter Project, Colorado Democrats and the Obama Campaign, you would think I wouldnt mind. They Drive me crazy! Maybe its because I'm already very sure of my views, and dont need anyone trying to convince me other wise. I really think that its because they are able to twist and turn things to sound so negative, no matter what party you're in. It seems like they're all full of lies. Growl.

Things that Entertain me!

1. Heroes!

I love Heroes. The premire this last week was everything I wanted and more! I cant wait to see what happens this next monday! What consequences will Suresh's "Experiment" have on his body? Will Nikki remember about her former life and her son Micah? Does the man that has picked Parkman up in Africa have the same talent Issac had, to paint the future? What will happen with Peter being trapped inside of villan Jesse's body? What will happen with Claire and her family? What the hell is going on with Sylar and Mrs. Peterelli!? Ah, I love it!

2. The Fringe

I didnt know if I would like this show from the commercials. My dad saw the premire, and since we're big x-files fans, told me I should watch it. I decided to watch the encore presentation of the series premire on the following sunday. I loved it! I really hated Joshua Jackson (back in the Dawsons Creek days), and never really had much interest in him as an actor, but I think he does a pretty great job playing the sarcastic son of a crazed scientist. John Noble (Denethor in LOTR: Return of the King, for fellow geeks out there) is absolutely BRILLIANT as Walter Bishop, the semi crazed fringe scientist. Ah, its great...Not as great as X-Files, but still, a good filler.

3. Bleach Manga

I love it. Ahhhhh Bleach, you light up my life! Plus in the absence of the anime this is all I really have to keep me going, lol.

4. Snickers

The new snickers commercials with the Viking, Roman, Pilgrim, Hawaiian guy, and the dude that looks like King Henry the XIII, crack me up. Especially the one where they sing "Greensleeves". Hilarious.

5. Bo Burnham

My sister had me watch this kid on YouTube about 8 months ago. He's since become very popular. He never fails to entertain me. He's a 15 year old, that has to be one of the smartest, funniest kids on the internet. I recommend "Bo Fo' Sho" and "3.14 Apple Pi". Check him out, here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LzgYWCgkZk

6. Flight of the Conchords

This show on HBO is one of the best sitcoms I've ever seen. Its almost as good as "Arrested Development", and better than "It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia". People, go rent or buy this show, its super! Its about, "New Zealand's fourth most popular digi-folk paradists". Two men (Gemaine and Bret), come to America to try and make their band the next big thing. Its so great! Check out all of the first season here:

http://www14.alluc.org/alluc/tv-shows.html?action=getviewcategory&category_uid=16336&from=F

7. Robot Chicken

Pretty much speaks for itself, doesnt it!

Anyway, What entertains you? And what dissappoints you?

Reasons I should probably have been born a boy...

Title is pretty self explanitory. Just a convorsation me and my best friend Lauren got into at a party this past friday.

1. I talk like a boy...

Even other girls have told me this. It's not my fault I spent my self defining stages of high school surround by only a few good girl friends and MULTIPLE guy friends... I liked chilling with boys better, and I was a skater punk, so what do you expect?

2. The way that I dress...

This again goes backl to the fact that I was a punk skater in high school. Super short blonde, black and multi colored hair paired with converse, or skate shoes, jeans and a tee shirt was how I rolled. For the most part, its how I STILL roll, but now I do dress up and wear heels and nice clothes when I go out downtown or out with my friends...I was tired of being the only one of my friends that dressed like a dude anymore. Still though, I maybe really only dress up like, 8 times a year... Not much.

3. My attitude...

Yeah, I've got one of those too. Must be because of my heritage (I'm a full blooded irish woman) I was just talking to YoruichiMeow about this the other day...I am generally one of the nicest, chillest people you'll ever meet...Unless you screw with me. I'm warning you, I've got a nasty temper...I played Lacrosse for 3 years in high school to help get my aggression out. Now a days I'm much more calm... most of the time. If you want to see that side of me, screw me over or mess with one of my friends... You'll be sorry I swear.

4. My tattoos in general...

Yeah, I'm one of those girls. We're not talking taboo "girl" tattoos. Not lower back stuff and foot tattoos. We're talking about a girl whose got no problem sitting in a chair for 6 hours straight. I love my tattoos, and I dont care if you think girls should have them or not. I'm half sleeved on my right arm and working on my design for my half sleeve on the left. I have two others on the inside of my wrists and a back piece started. See why I love Renji so much? Lol... I think while a lot of people like girls with tattoos, I think most societies still accept it the most from boy/men...boo!

5. I'm HORRIBLY lacking in the ability to flirt...

This is actually the things that got Lauren and I started on this conversation in the first place. While at this party friday, this cute guy James, was totally "diggin my chili", as my friends and I like to call it. Anyway, I've got a boyfriend, but I'm not gonna tell some cute guy to stop saying nice things to me, ya know? Anyway, at one point he says "You have really beautiful eyes, seriously, they're stunning...". Nice, right? Well this is how I responded, "Hey thanks dude!" and then punched him on the arm. WTF? I've never been good at flirting in general, but that was just the epitome of how horrible I am at it...

6. My love of Beer...

I LOVE BEER! Not to sound like some kind of partying lush. I got all of my binge drinking out in high school, and now really only drink on the weekends, if I dont have to work early the next day. I'm not a fan of cocktails, and I drink them vary rarely, but man, I love my beer. Not crappy coors light, or any mass produced draft. MICROBREWS. Yeah, I'm not your typical girl when It comes to the drink. I love to try new beers, and usually do try atleast one new one a week. Ales, Porters, Wheats, Lagers, Bocks and Stouts, I love them all, and theres probably not a single one that I wouldnt try... I'm gonna go get myself a Fat Tire right now....

7. Last but not least, my sport and movie choices

We'll start with movies. I'm a hopeless romantic, I'll say that, but I HATE chick flicks for the most part. I would rather watch "Halloween" or "Kill Bill" over "Pretty Woman", any day. Not to say that chick flicks are bad... They just arent that great in my opinion. As for sports, I love Lacrosse, Rugby, Hockey and UFC fighting. Like I said, helps with the aggression I sometimes keep bottled up. I enjoy, I guess...Violent sports? More than most girls. Dont get me wrong, I also ride horses competitively, and so that's one of my favorite sports to COMPETE in, besides Lacrosse. As far as watching goes though, I wanna be able to yell at the TV and not look like a weirdo for doing so...

There are reasons that I enjoy being a girl though, and here they are.

1. I love Shoes...Like, seriously.Ireally do LOVE shopping for shoes, and heels of any kind.

2. When I do dress up, I like looking pretty. I also enjoy makeup when I feel like putting it on.

3. I LOVE BOYS! Especially boys with tattoos.

4. I love my long hair

5. For the most part, I love having boobs.

6. I'm much more open about most things than I think most guys feel comfortable being. I think most girls are this way.

7. As much as I hate chick flicks, I LOVE romantic or fantastical books, and poetry in general. I love Austen, Rowling, Frost, Kipling and Meyer, cant help that part of being a girl:)

So I think thats the end of my rant for the night. Love all!

Heroes!

So as many people on here know, Heroes will be starting up again in about two weeks, and I could not be more excited. I absolutely LOVE Heroes, and while I work at night, I religiously TiVo every episode, and burn them onto DVD as well.

Anyway, so the point of this blog, is just to ask any of my fellow tv.commers, if you watch Heroes, what are your theories for this upcomming season? What do you think will happen? Who do you think will die...I'm pretty sure someone wont make it this season. What about Sylar? What other powers will the new villans have? Oh man I am SO excited!

The DNC is in my town.....and I'm going crazy!

Well, as some of you may know, I've live in the BEAUTIFUL state of Colorado, and, as some of you also know, I work in a hotel smack dab in the middle of Denver.

I know ALL of you know that the Democratic National Convention is in my town, which is SWEET for me, seeing as I am a democrat. The downside to it though, is indeed my job....Well, maybe I've phrased that wrong. I LOVE the fact that the DNC is in Denver, it's absolutely fantastic. I have several friends (myself included) that are very involved with this upcoming election. Both on the Democratic, and Republican sides (thogh mainly democrat...but thats not the point). Anyway, I'm just going to vent a bit. Both the good things...and the bad things about working somewhere to closely tied into the convention.

The Bad...I'm gonna start with this, just to get it over with...

Early Check-Ins:

For anyone that reads that ever stays at a hotel during a busy week or some kind of convention, listen to my words of wisdom. Lokk, we, at the hotel, know that you dont have a choice as to when your flight gets in, and we know that you probably just want to go to your room as soon as you get to the hotel. Here's the things about that...Most hotels check in time isnt even until around 2 or 3pm, so it's okay if you show up early, but for the love of god, dont yell at the people at the front desk because they dont have any rooms available. House keeping doesnt just live in the basement at night, waiting for people to leave so that they can clean rooms at any hour. Please, have more sense and consideration that that!

Drunk People:

Now dont get me wrong, I love my liquor...Well, that made me sound like a bit of a lush, but when I'm free I'm more than down to get a drink with all of my friends, and barbeque and play some frisbee golf. Dont come back from a party, absolutely WASTED, and then get pissed when we cut you off after your 13th drink that night. Plus keep in mind, YOURE IN THE MILE HIGH F-ING CITY. Altitude absolutely, yes, ABSOLUTELY, effects how quickly, and how badly you get drunk. You can barely walk on a flat surface, dont play it off like you just barely buzzed...We Coloradans know the look of a trashed out-of-stater faster than you even know!

People I work with...:

I love the people I work with, I really do, so I'll keep this short...Dont ever tell the people you work with, you're political party preference...Or atleast, dont tell them when the convention of your chosen party is in town. You're probably asking, "But why Aly? Arent you proud of your choice?", to which I would respond "Why yes, I certainly am. But being ridiculed and blamed for everyhting any annoying democrat does while staying at my place of work is!kind of a pain, so next time, I shall just keep my mouth shut." Again, this doesnt mean that I am not proud to be a democrat, I really am. I keep myself updted on everything having to do with this upcoming election, but dang it, it is not my fault that some democrats dont tip, and are whiny as hell!

The Good Side:

The people you meet:

You do get to meet a lot of really cool people. We have all of the Delegates from Indiana, Idaho, and Guam staying at our hotel. Along with every democratic party politician from said states. For instance, I met the Mayor of Gary Indiana today, and I got a autographed picture of him and Barack Obama today. SWEET!

The Info:

You get constant feed of anything going on at the convention. So you stay very updated,a nd get to watch all of the speeches, so you dont miss a thing!

The Merch:

Lots of cool things (if your a democrat anyway) Obama shirts, stickers, buttons, food, DNC merch in general. It's pretty cool!

The overtime:

I'll be a rich woman for atleast a week after I get paid....Shopping spree for me!

So that's that. Hope you didnt mind my raving blog.

Dark Knight

Is probably one of the best movies I've ever seen. The cast was INCREDIBLE, the acting was superb, the stunts were breathtaking, the script and story were amazing. I really cant say enough good things about it.

When I told one of my friends that they were making a third movie, (Christian Bale signed on for 2 more movies when he signed on for 'Dark Knight'), my friend Matt (who saw it before me) told me he thought they really didnt leave it open for a third sequel. Though, when I got out of the theatre, I couldnt help but think "How did the NOT leave that completely open for a sequel?". My dad and friend said the same thing too. I can see no way that they can get away with not making a sequel the way that it ended. So my question is, if and when anyone else see's this movie: Sequel or no sequel, what are your thoughts?

Seriously though, GO SEE IT!
