My Weekend

This weekend I was gone the whole weekend to go on a church retreat thing and help out because it's for the 8th graders to make their confirmation. If you're a Catholic, you probably know what that is. If you're not, just incase you don't know, it's an initiation into the church, like a baptism when you're older too. Well, maybe that doesn't really explain it that much, but oh well. You get the picture. I had a lot of fun and while I was there I got to talk to all the 8th graders, parents, and high schoolers helping out on the microphone about my experience with my family being here from hurricane Katrina and about my dad going down there with my aunt to assess the damage and what it was like when they got back. There were probably like a hundred or more people there too, lol. I was kind of nervous because after talking for a while I started to feel like I was going to cry or something and it was a little hard for me to talk, lol. But afterwards, everybody clapped for me, so it's all good. I had to sleep in a cabin because the retreat was at a camp and it was nice, we had brand new cabins and stuff. The problem was I woke up at like 3 in the morning freezing. Someone like turned the air conditioner on because it was hot when the other girls went to bed and it got really cold being on that long. Plus it was probably like 40 degrees outside too. Well, anyways, it was so much fun, I had a great time. Oh, and by the way, here's a cool poem thing I heard while I was there: Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, Today is a gift, And that's why we call it the present. :)
