Daddy's Spoiled Little Girl

K, so I can only assume that there must've been some classic chick-flick on "We" that I clicked on earlier today but didn't end up watching, b/c when I turned the TV back on (yeah, I know, weird that it was turned off, but I guess it happens occasionally) it was still on the channel. Well, I'd heard about this show and they even did a funny sketch on it last night on SNL, but there's something to be said for seeing things with your own eyes. Please stop the burning sensation in my retinas! I want to look away, I want to turn it off, and yet I can't! The title pretty much says it all: Daddy's Spoiled Little Girl. It's about exactly what you think it's going to about and delivers every stereotyped beat you can possibly imagine. I get why people watch and I get why I couldn't turn it off. What I don't get, and what thoroughly baffles me, is why, why, why these people would ever willingly participate in such a show??? They have worked hard to create the kind of life most people dream of, yet all they want is to be on some stupid reality show where they are assured of being ridiculed. So the lesson is this: 1) wealth is wasted on people whose biggest goal is appearing on television, and 2) no one should ever be THAT desperate for their 15 minutes. Your TV Goddess*

We appreciate your business, don't forget to get validated on the way out!

Huzzah! It happened. The TV Goddess has been validated for her customer loyalty and diligent patronage of this site! You may all carry on with whatever else you were doing. All is right again with the world. :) All the shows are back tonight with new episodes, so it'll be quite a busy night. A new show has been added to my Tivo and I implore all to check it out: CAMPUS LADIES. I know, it's on Oxygen, so the fellas may not be so quick to tune in, but DO! I caught the stage version last year at Groundlings (before they shot the pilot) and it was hilarious! Two obliviously uncool, middle-aged divorcees go back to college, comedy ensues. Chapter 26: Edna on the Road to Nowhere

So I've been logged into this site for a number of days now and have done everything they say you're supposed to do to acquire points to receive your requisite validation, and so far, I got nothing. I'm at 0% on level 1. Even the DMV gives you points for getting your name right! ...ok, I just made that up, but it sounded good, didn't it? :) I'll try not to take this snub too personally, for now. Although perhaps it's a sign that I should stop procrastinating and get back to my work... Oh, and kudos to anyone who figured out that the title belongs to the chapter of a book written about Lisa by her shrink in an episode of Mad About You (ep 2.11 "Deconstructive Criticism").
