Education B4 entertainment

just began a new site,.... I invite all those who care to join. I have my issues and this is a way for me to vent. I am just concerned about some things, that's all And I've found the internet a great way to make my (our) voices heard. goto: http://www.myspace.com/educationb4entertainment thanks, the bean

Super Bore

Hype. Pre-game shows. Pre-preGame show. In my humble opinion, it just keeps getting worse. It's more about entertainment the athletic achievement. And Poor Stevie Wonder, It seems that he is now relagated to only doing Super Bowls, or the olympics or some such. You can almost bet on it. I really miss the days of pure professional athleticism. Now it's all about dollars. Speaking of dollars... the worst bunch of commercials. This is the best advertisers could come up with? THat Burger King one had all the wiffiness of trying too too hard.

Music

Hey... there anyone know of some good music boards? I feel like bringing up the topic here is out of bounds and I kinda want to braindump some of my music knowledge....

A few thoughts on Graphic Novels

Somebody please explain the appeal of a graphic novel. I've picked uup a number of them recently and I simply don't get it? And how many times have we read "THE GRAPHIC NOVEL COMES OF AGE." Again, I don't see it. I even went to the local bookshop to thumb through writer Chris Ware's G.N. Snore... Now the New York Times is publishing him in their SUnday Mag like a serial... Tried that to and, well, I decided to vacuum instead. Anyone out there want to convince me, aid me, steer me in a better direction? Ya know what? I'm going to start a thread on this....

Writer for the Morning News

Just contacted the writer from the Morning News Article. What a nice guy! He's going to help me out with my thesis/article I want to write. Said he'd even put me in contact with a number of people that he intereviewed (he's going to check with them first, make sure it's okay). But THANKS for all the other suggestions; this is an internet community in action. Just thought all you people should know that this site works and works well.

Real vs. Fake

There's been so much written in these formus, especially in the NEWS and Reality ones, of what is real what is fake. I'm somewhat fascinated by this; the sheer polarity of thought: "Yes is 100% real" "It's 100% fake." And people are so adamant on the stance they take... I'm tyring to formulate a thesis behind this, one that I can actually write a paper on... But I think interviews are the key, interviews with the people who make reality tv... Anyone have any leads? Ideas? Email? Below is another article I found... by the same guy who wrote "Mirror, Mirror." AND he wrote me back. Seems that he'll help me contact some people. http://www.themorningnews.org/archives/manufacturing_reality/the_omarosa_experiment.php tt

For all you reality Folk.

Very cool article on reality casting on www.themorningnews.org The piece is called "Mirror, Mirror" I found it quite interesting... and for all you out there, like myself who have been having a queasy feeling on the whole genre as of late, this gives a different perspective... which is to say, hey, it's entertainment, it's a business, maybe we (I) shouldn't be getting so upptiy about it... It is, after all, only TV
