*in a 'Rashomama- Greg Sanders' voice* First my Grandfather got my mother into it. She took it home with her and got me into it. Before I knew it, I was obssessed with it. Yes, thus begins the 'CSI Effect' on family households. The 'effect' started on my dad. My mother and father were watching a 'Vegas' episode on SPIKE. A suspect took the bait and drank from a plastic cup Brass had offered him. "Hmm. Fingerprints and DNA." he said. My mother was surprised. "Your daughter would be so proud!" I was. But then it took hold of my sister.
She is only 7. Full of youthful innocence, though she is anything but. I broke the news to her that Grissom (she knows him as the 'guy with the beard' or 'the bugman') was leaving. She pretended to cry saying, "Why? Why does he have to go?! *all of a sudden really perky* At least it's not Nick." I was in awe. I never thought it would take hold of my arrogant little brother. But it did. I caught him watching Sci-fi. Nobody really wants him to watch that kind of stuff. So I changed the channel for him. "Is your show on?" he asked me. I clicked on 66. "This one?" "Yeah! I want to watch this!" I could see it was an episode that was not suited for his 11 year old mind. So I turned to Nickelodeon. What do ya know? Spongebob! "I don't want to watch Spongebob! I can't stand it!" I was in shock:o He turned down 'the yellow sponge.' "I want to watch that show!" "You can't! That episode isn't for kids your age!" "Isn't there another one?" "Another what?" "Another CSI show?" I clicked 42. Hey look! Miami! "This! This! Let's watch this!" Wow. He chose Horatio over Spongebob. Well I would. I love H! But still.
How did over take my family? Everyone who is reading this, protect your family from being sucked in to the world of forensics and be taken over by the 'CSI Effect' before it is too late.;) It, sadly, is too late for me.:( I can not be saved.:( Fortunately, I am not in this alone.:) I have you guys!
