Since I'm on the forums I have noticed that some people like Sara, and some not. But what has shocked me the most is the fact that some people hate her. Hate is a really strong word. I dislike some characters or I can't stand them, but hate is a bit too strong.
But I'm no one to say how people should feel, so if they hate her there's nothing I can do. But if you ask them WHY they hate her, the vast majority will say "because she is so boring and she is with Grissom, and he could be with any girl he want, and I can't understand why he chose Sara".
So, why doesn't she deserve to be with Grissom? What's wrong with her?
I think she's not a "typical" character. We have some stereotypes in our head and we are afraid of whatever is different. A great philosopher named Philip J. Fry (from Futurama :P) said once: TV audiences don't want anything original. They wanna see the same thing they've seen a thousand times before.
Sara is not "the most" anything. She is not the charismatic leader, she is not the always perfect woman, she is not the sarcastic but adorable character, she is not the funny character, she is not the villain of the story. She is just Sara.
And why would our beloved, charismatic, perfect Grissom want to be with her?
Because she's unique. There's no other character like her. She's not perfect, but she's perfect for him, and that is what love is about.
